Ok , help me with another question

On my other post I asked which of the Intensity Series I should get and of the reponses I got I was told to go with BC/ME. Further question, is ME just like PH? Are they basically the same? I have PH and don't find endurance work that much fun. I have All Step from the CTX series on video and find the shoulder work on that tape grueling and tough. Are all the CTX weight segments as challenging as the shoulder work? Would I be better off trying to go for the entire CTX series over just one of the Intensity series? For the price of 2 Intensity series I could get the whole CTX series.:D Which is a better deal in your own opinions?

Thanks:7

PS See Help me decide post for all the other DVDs of Cathe's that I already own (basically the 12 pack bundle plus CK/CM and KPC/LG
:D

Between ME/BC DVD and the whole CTX set, the CTX wins hands down for me. It includes 5 different cardio workouts that can be done as is or 2 put back to back for an incredible cardio blast; also the fabulous leaner Legs which remains, IMHO, Cathe's best lower body training tape to date; also an entire upper body workout for all muscle groups that can be done one body part per day, or two, or the whole upper body split on the same day, and yes, it is challenging. There are so many ways to work the CTX series, more than there are ways to work the ME/BC combo I think.

For me, there's no competition. On ME the leg work is good and the biceps; most of the rest leaves me cold.

Later, when you have more dough, get the whole I series because you won't want to miss out on the Pyramids, the best of the collection, the most stand out workouts of the series I reckon.

I have only done ME one time and it was okay...I liked Power Hour much more. My legs were totally gone by the end of PH.

Clare...I have a question for you...comparing the whole CTX series to either Pure Strength or Slow/Heavy...where would you spend your dollars in that situation? I haven't really looked at CTX just because the workouts aren't as long, but I forgot about being able to mix/match with the Dvds...perhaps I should be giving that a second look before I get PS or S&H?

Oops, I was confused in my post. I was thinking of Body Max not Power Hour before. Sorry!

I think PH and ME are very similar workouts...both endurance.

Okay...I'm an idiot...it WAS Power Hour that I had in mind before! But my opinion still stands...PH was tougher than ME with those power lunges at the end! Now THAT is burnin!

My brain is fried from too many Tylenol and too many cough drops this week. I've been living in a fog.

Hmmmm...and why do the edit buttons show up now when they weren't there before? I'm going to rest now.

Hi Annette, I really think that what you decide to get depends on what your goals are. If I were to choose only one DVD in the Intensity Series, I'd certainly get the Pyramids. But that's only because my main goal is strength. If I wanted more cardio options, I might get IMAX2/C&W.

ME is an endurance workout like PH, but PH plays with the counts -- you go 3 counts up, one down; one count up, 3 down; or two and two -- while ME goes for regular reps. I've actually used ME more for strength by going heavier and resting longer between sets, but I always go much lighter with PH.

Yes, the CTX weight segments are very challenging. I don't use the CTX series as is. I've always mixed and matched, and even modified some parts depending on what I want to achieve. I would recommend this series to anyone. Two answer your question, I think the CTX series is a better deal as it has kickboxing, step, hi/lo, lots of ab work, a mean leg workout and the upper body split, BUT I would save for the Intensity Series afterwards as it delivers its promise to take you to the next level. Hope this helps.:)

You have a lot of questions!

1. Is ME just like PH? Yes, they are quite similar, but ME skips the form pointers and rest breaks. If you don't like Endurance, you probably won't like ME. It sure is fun though, but I love PH.
2. Are all CTX weight segments as challenging as shoulders? YES YES YES-this is the MOST INTENSE upper body workout CAthe has ever made. It's a total killer.
3. Should I buy CTX or one intensity DVD? Well, CTX is very cardio oriented if you like to do 5 days a week of cardio. You will get more for the money I think-6 hours vs. only 2 hours of workouts.
4. To answer your previous "help me decide" post you already have plenty of strength DVD's and the pyramids can wait a while. I think the CTX series would be a "different" thing to add to what you have because you do the killer 30 min cardio and one body part per day-it would definitely be a good cross training thing, to quote its title. The Boot Camp DVD would aso be excellent to shake up your current workouts, but again, for the price of BC/ME you get the entire CTX. I'd go with CTX for now and add the intensity series later.

Pinky and Beth wrote you excellent responses. I have nothing new to add to what they have both said. I agree with both ladies.

Enjoy the CTX!
