I have been looking for nearly two years and can't find any answers, we have several globe willow trees and starting last year some kind of bug infestation is killing one of them, you can't see the bugs but you can see the damage and it is oozing some kind of foamy stuff, we have tried just about all kinds of bug killers they sell in wal-mart and nothing is working. we also have been in a 6 year drought now so water is not as plentyfull as usual. If anyone has dealt with this please let me know what you did to solve this trouble

I don't have the answer for your willows, but you might want to call in a tree doctor. If you can't find one in the yellow pages, try calling your local botanic garden. They usually can give you a reference. There are also a lot of gardening forums you can post questions in. Good luck!

You definitely need the professional advice of a forester. Call your local county extension office and ask for a reference...depending on where you live you may have a tree specialist employed by your extension office. Or, if they can't help you call your local Department of Natural Resources and they can give you the name of a forester.

This person will come out...free of charge...and take a look at the situation and give you unbiased, knowledgeable advice. Goodluck!
