Hi everyone..

Thought I would get us started for today.. I was real busy yesterday afternoon. I will have to go back and look at the rest of the thread from then.

Today, I plan on doing KPC....I am sore today too!!

Ok, from yesterday's posts:

Chris: Glad to see you will be doing this month's rotation too..YOu did have a busy morning yesterday. How is Kiwi doing?? Happy Birthday to him!! Are you sore from bootcamp. My upper body is still feeling that workout. I like that one too. I like to keep omving from one thing to another.. HOw is your son doing today?

Dawn: Welcome!!

Lori: Another fellow rotation follower, yeah!!! How did your test go? Hopefully well!

Beth: Oh how I hate not being able to decide on a workout. That is why I always follow the rotations...

Vilma: I am still interested in kettlebells. How is it going with them? I haven't gotten to the store to check them out yet/ Been real busy!! NOw hubby is out of town and I have baseball duty and every other duty until Friday night..

Ivy: great news on the weight loss. Way to go!! Wish I could say I was with you on that. But anyway, congrats!!

Iris: Great workout..

Hottie: I like Gym style better..S&H is good. But, I really feel it when I do GS. Slow really gets ya though. My legs are feeling it today..

Joanne: I am so sorry to hear that you are having such an emotional time. I am praying for your family to make speedy recoveries. I take my hat off to you that you can get in any workouts at all with all that you have to deal with. Yes, the bootcamp one that I did was the older one with the circuits. I was sore and still am in my shoulders and lats. it is sore everywhere!!

Now, I think I am caught up for now..Be back later after that workout and school lessons..

Good morning all!

Kathy - have fun with KPC. I really can't wait to get that workout, it looks like a lot of a fun.

So, I managed to wake myself up a half hour earlier but I don't feel like just jumping into a workout. But...I think I'm going to try Imax2 after Beth's encouragement the other day...we'll see. ;)

BBL!

Hi Everyone!

Joanne, big hugs to you -- we all hope Caitlyn is better soon, if not by now. That's a stressful recovery!

I was busy yesterday and didn't get back, as predicted, but I think someone asked what I ended up doing -- I started out with Rumble. Remember how people say it just doesn't get your heart rate up, and I said after the first time I did it that I just jumped throughout the whole workout and it was fine? Well, I guess I didn't feel like jumping yesterday. I gave up on that when it got to the bag work, and put in TJ kick punch crunch or whatever it is. I've never done that one, and you are going to laugh your behinds off at me, but I couldn't get the moves.... I was always missing and behind, do I gave up on that. I think I finally ended up just doing a bunch of plyo moves on my own and then a Cathe stretch. I just didn't feel worked afterward.

Hottie, you will feel worked after imax 2 -- how'd it go? It's fun, right?!

Lauren's kbell dvd arrived yesterday, so this morning I went through the demos and then she has a short "fat blasting" workout. So, it was just about 40 minutes. I do think I understand why people can do weights the next day -- at least I didn't feel like my UB got worked my at all. I think I will do PUB tomorrow. Anyway, it was fun! I'm looking forward to doing a longer one soon.

Yes, it's been hot and humid here this week -- I felt awful yesterday running around the house cleaning in the humidity. It's supposed to rain Friday and/or Saturday and then be a little cooler next week. I hope so -- I'm so ready for fall.

Have a great day everyone!

-Beth

Good Morning Girls!

Today is a Interval Run and finishing decorating outside for the fall/Halloween,probably some floor work for later on my own. I was also thinking about kettlebells, they seem to be more challenging then the dumbell? hmmm not sure,Ill have to maybe add this to my christmas list.

Hello Everyone!
th_bye1.gif

I have my youngest home from school today with a bad stomach was up through the night with her as she was tossing cookies :( She was so sore that her chest & throat hurt and I let her sleep with me last night thank goodness my bathroom is attached to my room.

Even with her daddy at home from work she wanted mommy instead. Daddy ended up in the family room letting the TV watch him lol. He ended up taking ds to school, me thinks he just didn't want to deal with the sour smell of puking just in case it happened again.

So I'm just getting up now and she's on the family pc playing Sims :)

She seems better this morning only threw once at 7ish then went back to sleep but I'm only letting her eat saltines and drinking plain water as she feels up to it.

I also started giving her 1/2 tablet of Airborne as it has some ginger.

So .....

Once I get done here I'm jumping on my TM and doing a long CC or Itread not sure which yet.

If I can squeeze it in I'll do a bit of practice with Kettlebell Way.

Then I need to run into town and get some real ginger root, some soda water etc .

Kathy - KPC is such a great wo hmmm maybe I'll do that for my cardio although its slated for Saturday lol.

Did you have fun with it?

Days sure get a bit frantic carpooling kids around with no one to help out eh? Thats me all the time as dh sleeps all day and works nights, I'm lucky he took my ds into school this morning. So I can totally relate how your week has been. Like I once said - I'm a married, single mom.

Hottie - I'm the same way I need at least 30-45 min to wake up before I get a workout in if I plan an early am one.

When I do my very early w/os I get up at 4 am to start at 4 30 or 445 am that gives me enough time to do my wo and still be on time to get my kids up for the day .
I need to get back to that routine again as lately my mornings after 7am are very very hectic and busy.

So did you do Imax 2 ? When I 1st got that dvd I was close to 50 # over my weight now so I could only manage the premixes that split the wo in have.

It's my all time favorite dvd Cathe has produced- its tons of fun when you get the moves down and do the wo. I hope you enjoy! :)

Beth what size kbell do you have? I find my 15# kbell a bit light for Lauren's dvd but I know I can't do getups with 15# lol. The 40 min was a good wo.

I got The Kettlebell Way yesterday afternoon and I really like it. The dvd is sharp and crisp. I'll be practicing with the tutorial after my run. Anthony goes through showing you the moves and gives some pointers on some alternates. :) I'm happy I got that one too; now I'm just waiting for Newport.

Dawn
Halloween is a favorite around here :) We love it.
So you do your own thing for workingout or do you follow a rotation of sorts?

Later........

Good Morning (Almost noon/afternoon!) Everyone....

Things are settling down a little bit here. My son is home yet another day today. He seems to be enjoying it ...
4025mr7.gif
. He says he likes being home alone with Mommy or Daddy. Funny boy! His temp is trending down today. He DID wake up last night at 12am with a fever that felt you could fry an egg on him! But this morning he's back down to 99.8. So THAT'S much better. I won't bother taking him to the doctor today... since he's better....

So today I will chill at home with him, maybe run out if he feels better, and get some milk and juice.

This morning I had a cardio on tap, so I did 95% of Cardio Fusion! I say 95%, because when I got to the Drill Max drills, I wanted to skip over the stability ball hopping, but when I hit "fast forward" it brought me to the cool down!
EMOASletmeoutHL.gif
. So I just rewound to the first segment again, and finished out for 60 minutes of cardio. Got me a good sweat, but I did start to get a headache towards the end of it too. Maybe TOO much sweating. My toe tweaked a TEENY bit, as did my calf, but got through without hurting worse than when I started!

Kathy: KPC ALWAYS a good workout, always fun! Hope you enjoyed! Kiwi is doing fine. We had a birthday party for him after dinner last night.. I know, I know... cuckoo people we are! Any excuse for cupcakes (not me though!). Oddly enough, my lower body is sore from BC from yesterday! Definitely have that "booty call" that Cathe talks about! A little bit of DOMS upper body too. That workout ROCKS, huh? who knew???

Hottie: Hope IMAX2 was good for you! I can NOt work out early AM. Nope, I just don't have it in me. When I do, on rare occasion, I feel ill, and feel like I don't get a good workout...

Beth: Your workout yesterday sure was a mixmatch! I guess you do have to do TJs Punch Kick & Jam threw a few times to get the sequences. It IS a lot of fun when you do though! Hope it didn't discourage you from doing it!!

Dawn: an interval run sounds great! enjoy!

Vilma: Oh no! Not another sick baby!! I guess I am grateful that I am home during the week, and it's not me missing work while my son is home. I sometimes get that "single married mom" feeling too. Hope your guy feels better today!!! Vomitting SUCKS!!

BBL...

I'm back..... Vilma & Chris -- hope your sick ones are feeling better soon. Vilma, you sure have had it bad at your house so far this year!

Dawn, welcome to the group.... I don't know that kbells are more challenging than dumbbells -- just different. Of course, I haven't done a really hard workout with them yet! lol......

You know, on this Lauren Brooks cd they have some trivia during the rest periods, and on one it says she graduated from college in 2002 and I realized I could probably be her mom. I'm not sure that's a good thing, but it did make me think of my mom at age 77 working out with her personal trainer. I really have to give her a lot of credit -- she's never been in great shape (though she was certainly thin when she the babies but that was more than 40 years ago!) but she gets herself to the gym pretty faithfully. Amazing.

Kathy, hope you survive the hectic days of your husband being out of town! At my house it's somewhat easier when my husband's gone, as it feels like I have one less person to take care of, but.... I don't sleep as well and I miss him.

Ok, to work for me.....

-Beth

Hi Shywolf I like to rotate with Cathe and Jari Love more for a endrance

workout. for cardio I only run, I like to do Treadmill challenger dvd,HIIT,Trail runs,Intervals. It gives me that great feeling afterwards! I sometimes do Tamilee Webb and Kathy Smith dvds. I try to go heavy all the time using from 3-40 pound weights(barbell+dumbells) I workout at home.

Thought I'd share a picture of my funny kitty. I came downstairs last night and found THIS sight on my kitchen floor. It was too damn funny!

Ok, I'm back...

Well, after waking up my husband, I decided that I wanted to work from home today. I really want to get some reading and planning done and it never seems to work when I'm at my desk at work. Something about the crappy wireless connection, the constant foreign language chatter (Italian and Chinese..which is weird because I can handle English or Bengali chatter...maybe I need to understand what everyone is saying), and I really need to sit down and go over some chemistry so I can tweak my experiments. I also should probably write that rec letter too.

I futzed around for a while, eating the opposite of "clean," and then finally told myself to stop being such a chicken and try Imax2. Well, I'm very proud to say that I went through the whole thing. I had to run to the water bottle during the recovery phases and I took a little longer than 30s during the break, but I did it! I didn't get every step because I had to take a second or two to figure out what was going on but I probably did 90% of all the steps. But I have to admit, Combo+blast 8 and 9 just confused the crap out of my feet. I stared at the TV while doing jumping jacks to give me some time but...I'll study that in the future. I'm also convinced that Mrs. Boylan had something to do with the choreography in that macarena like combo 10 (flashback to the 7th grade just popped in my head again). But I probably chickened out the intensity of a lot of the steps too...like my hops were maybe not as high or far? But pretty happy with my first try. I now feel like I've overcome a mental wall that I've put up over myself and I now will attack this with the tenacity I have with other Cathe workouts.

Wow, that was wordier than expected! Sorry!! I get verbose after a workout apparently!

Personals...

Beth -- well, thanks for all the encouragement! I really do appreciate it - and I wouldn't have attempted Imax2 without your words. Freaking triple digits for the last three days! EWWWW. Gosh, I hate it. Do you have a workout planned for today?

Dawn -- do you run outside or on a TM or an elliptical?

Vilma -- I hope your daughter feels better! Cinnamon is supposed to help with stomach issues too, if that helps.

Chris-- you constantly amaze me for being able to do these workouts with your toe out of whack. I've been trying to push my workouts earlier and earlier over time and I'm been very careful about what I eat ahead of time. If I can push the workouts earlier, then I can possible get my husband to get his workout in before he goes to work. When he comes home, its a lot harder to get him to move into a full blown workout...he's tired or frustrated or too full. So, I have this motivation to sorta do it for him. I'm not entirely successful but I hope if I keep at it, it'll be good for him. But if I actually can get through a morning workout (past 20 mins), I usually feel great afterwards.

Alrighty, I'm going to try and make a todo list for the rest of the day and see what I should do for my afternoon workout. I'll be around...

Busy busy again oy

Just had to post to say Chris those photos are cute!!

lil one is doing much better, she came home from school yesterday complaining of nausea but has not thrown up the rest of the day , no fever either so if she continues to be better she'll be going back tomorrow.

I ended up just doing CCPP again.

No playing w/ the bell Friday is another day.

gotta go
kishes to you see ya manana

Wow, today was the tackling challenges. I got Imax2 in the morning and I was planning on doing a long low intensity elliptical run but instead I decided to put in 4DS bootcamp in and I got through it! I had to skip through the butt kicks because they were hurting my wrists and I modified the pushups, but everything else, down. I feel very accomplished fitness wise...everything else wise, not so much, but hey, I'll take it! I'm going to go into housewife mode until the VP debate and then I'll go back do drowning grad student mode. Have a great day.

Vilma -- I hope you get to play with the kettlebell tomorrow!

Hi Everyone,

Just coming in really quick to say HI and that I did LM premix Intervals 1-4 and MM Premix Lower Body only. It was a nice mix. My lower body is going to feel it tomorrow. I went to work this morning and I haven't had a break all day. Now I'm going to get dinner ready. I won't have time for personals today:(, but I just wanted to check in and say hi and to let you all know I did my workout today! :) I hope you all have a wonderful day!

Chris: I saw your kittie's pic as I scrolled down the page, the pictures are super cute and funny!! :) Thanks for sharing!

BB tomorrow everyone! I have nothing to do tomorrow. Goodnight!

Hey Guys!

Oooh it's so nice to sit down after dinner. I'm too poop to pop! Funny thing is , I found out that my fatigue is just not caused by my poor sleeping. Talked to my doctor's office today, and my thyroid level was high, meaning I'm not getting enough Synthroid. I'm kind of happy about it, because it may mean I'll be less fatigued in the near future, after switching up my dose!!!! And maybe I could lose a few lbs to boot! That would be too cool!!

Beth: thanks, Jake is doing better. His temp max today was 99.8, and he asked for PB & Fluff for lunch!!! (he's only wanted toast the last few days). Oh, AND a cupcake!!
25r30wi.gif
I'm thinking he's good for school tomorrow! ... OMG..your mom was 77 and getting personal training sessions???? That is freakin AMAZING! What a great role model. Did you get the workout bug from her?

Hottie:
clap.gif
for getting IMAX2 done!!! That's amazing considering your fear of it! It definitely takes some getting used to. I think most Step workouts do from the start. And as long as your HR was getting up there for 30-60 seconds, and then back down, you got the benefits of interval! ... I gotcha on the earlier workouts. Sounds like a good plan. AND making sure you eat something beforehand and wake up a bit. I'd be ok with that too. I'm truly not amazing, though, for working out with my toe. I mean, it has been 3 weeks, and it's 90% better. There's just a twinge every now and then...
15.gif
. My calf actually bothered me more than my toe today. I do have my toe taped still, though. I think i'm supposed to do it for a whole month. ... I was pretty crazy in the BEGINNING with getting a workout in though. That was more cuckoo than amazing.

I like the combo you did today! what a great lower body workout!

Thanks you guys for peaking at my kitty (oh, that doesn't sound right!!).
I really found the whole thing a riot! Glad I wasn't the only one amused by it!!

Everyone all going to be glued to the VP debate tonight? It probably will end up being boring, since there's been so much hype over it!!
