Good morning everyone..

Starting us off today..

I am checking in with a rest day...I have gone my 6 days this week. And it is a good thing. We have a busy day with baseball photos to take and a game, church tonight. I just don't think I would be able to squeeze it in anyway!!

Have a great day!!

Good morning!

Kathy, enjoy your rest day!

On tap, Imax2...very excited to try it again. Opera was darn beautiful last night even though because we arrived 2 minutes too late we didn't get to sit in our awesome seats for the first half. Both DH and I are were very happy to have seen it.

:)p)

Hey Guys! Kathy! Hottie!

Kathy: Sounds like a well deserved "rest" day (funny how "rest" means different things for workouts!). You sound very busy, but with fun things, today.

Hottie:
Glad to hear you're feeling better! You and Vilma tie for the biggest "bug magnet"!! You poor thing! That's great you were feeling up to going to the Opera last night. Operas are mostly over my head, but was it a certain one that you saw? AND you're tackling IMAX2 again today!! You are one tough cookie!!

Today on the rotation I'm doing called for a Kickbox cardio. So I ended up doing TURBO JAM: KICKIN CORE. This one is a ton of fun, and does some different ab moves at the end, that I always feel the next day. PLUS sweat like crazy! It was fun!

Saturday , Saturday. getting ready for work day today. So far, all healthy boys (knock on wood!!). So on tap is cooking cleaning and making it through until my 3:30pm nap.....

Hi Everyone! Chris, I really like Bart and Tigger today -- so funny!

I stayed in bed this morning! Realized I can walk the Christmas tree farm while my little one is playing soccer, so I'm taking it a bit easy today. I have a kind of crazy day -- take one kid to soccer, come back to switch kids and take the second to soccer. Come home and then the whole family leaves for our pound appointment. We did spend some time with that dog yesterday -- Raven -- and she's a nice dog, but has a serious case of ADHD. She totally reminded me of my older son! :) In the end, we decided she was probably more than we can handle with our lives what they are. So, we'll see what they have today. I have a feeling we may not have a dog for six months, which is fine.

Kathy, enjoy your busy rest day. Hottie, I've never been to the opera, but it sounds like you had a nice evening. Drat about being late!

Well, whatever this day brings for everyone, I hope it's good!

-Beth

Hi ladies. Checking in today with Christi Taylor's Hi/Lo Heaven. An oldie (like me, ha!), but fun and sweaty!

DH is off with two of the boys to the soccer tournament, so it's just Caitlyn, Colin and I for the day. No fever for two days for Caitlyn!! Woo-hoo!! You almost wouldn't know she had surgery three weeks ago, she's really bouncing back now. She even has a friend coming over to play later on this afternoon after Colin's soccer game.

Chris, hope those boys stay healthy! This is the worst time of the year for ickies. Ha! I just noticed that Bart in your post. :)

Beth, enjoy your "rest" day and walk. I'm sorry the dog didn't work out, but sometimes you just know it's not right. Good for you for taking the time to get to know her before making a decision. I'm sure the right dog will come into your lives soon!

Hottie, glad you are feeling better. Good luck with Imax2.

Kathy, enjoy your rest day too!

::BURP::

OMGosh...well, I was going to do Imax but then we made waffles and I was too full and then talked to my mother for too long and then DH and I had a long emotional conversation which lead both of us to call for chinese take out so now I'm sitting in front of the computer going...sooo...full...no...imax....::BURP::

Maybe I'll go into lab while I digest...

Chris -- yeah, my nickname from one of my friends is "petri dish" because if anyone gets sick around me, I'll be sure to be sick. I've always been like this...just a weak immune system. Though in my defense, there's that stupid norovirus around campus that has made 500+ students sick that I got. silly undergrads. And I saw Puccini's Madama Butterfly. My husband loved Bart and Tigger too, btw. He saw it out of the corner of his eyes and came to the computer after I got off to see what it was!

Beth -- I got B&G yesterday! I so wanna do it but I'm so full and I wanna Imax. You make me pine for a dog. My husband really wants a dog but I won't let us get one until we have a house or a MUCH larger apartment. Also, between the two of us, I'm the only one who actually grew up with dogs and I was very much involved with taking care of my dog so I get the set the ground rules on getting a pet. :)

Opera is one of those things you have to have a real open mind for. I don't understand Italian (or at least enough of it) to understand what they're singing but almost all the halls have supertitles so you can understand what everyone is saying. But if its done well, it doesn't matter -- the singing and the beauty just carries to a different place like last night. But I actually left Otello during the intermission in the spring because it was just so bad. But what was sorta weird last night was the dress. When we had gone to other shows at the LA opera, I guess we tended to go on the weekends and half the place are in jeans and we've often been overdressed. Since I wasn't feeling well, I told my husband that I didn't want to change at work. So we go in street clothes. Of course, its friday night, people are in tuxes and these gorgeous dresses and I'm in a sweatshirt. Ohhh..the glares from some people. But everyone who was part of the staff was extra nice to me, almost to mitigate some of the mean looks. So, you have to be prepared for the kind of audience I guess. I just told myself they were mad that they didn't get to wear as comfortable clothing as I did in a main orchestra seat! That said I wasn't too mad -- I get the tickets for $20 because I'm a grad student and I'm pretty sure each of their tickets were triple digits. Still, totally glad I got to see it.

Joanne -- that's so great Caitlyn is doing well! And you get to spend some non stressing time too! Enjoy the day.

Back to digesting...

Hottie, from what I know of ticket prices, I'm sure they were triple digits -- good score for you!!!

Well, I had a day sort of like yours in that it wasn't exactly what I expected, though I suppose it was. I never walked this morning because all the parents were standing around chatting and watching the peewee soccer. I was embarassed to leave my son there, even though I have every other week because I've had to go watch the older son play. So, while it was nice chatting, the whole time I was there I was beating myself up over not having anticipated this and worked out this morning. Then the whole day was just running back and forth with kids, going to the pound, grocery shopping, post office, etc. I am so needing me time!!! I forgot that part of the getting up so early is all about me having quiet time with myself. I am feeling very grumpy about it all right now.

No dog yet... they are holding one for us -- a chocolate lab -- she's small for a lab. Did I tell you all that I didn't really want a dog and my family convinced me? I just feel like we're pretty taxed as it is, and just don't know that we want to add more to our load. I know a lot of it would be a good thing, but I mostly just see the added responsibility. I'm sure if the right dog comes along, I'll see the good stuff -- I'm not sure this chocolate lab is it for me. Larry said he found a bunch of others at the other pound, so we'll see.

I'm pooped, but I want to work out or go for a walk at least, but I have to make dinner, etc., etc., etc..... You girls know the drill, I know!!
