Good Morning Ladies! This is your wake up call! :p

It's 35 degrees and dark outside.
Looking forward to the time change as that'll mean the sun will be up with me.

I do not care for cold, dark mornings.

So today is Wednesday which means On The Edge kettlebell dvd planned for moi.

I went to bed last night and didn't even hear my dd come home last night from work -- I must've been dead tired as I usually don't go into a deep sleep until I know she's home. She turned off my reading light and put my book away :)

Oh and my dh laughed when I said I must be going through the change as I woke up the other night sweating - he said he must be too as he's doing the same. :p Its our bed that is retaining heat. We have a TemperPedic and need to take off our down comforter which I did last night and no swaeting lol.

I love that bed but forgot about the retaining heat factor Oops

I hope to BBL so far nothing is on the schedule so perhaps I can finally stay home and take care of some things around the house.

Goodmorning Vilma and all that follow

It's cold here in FL today! I don't know what workout to do today yet, but it will be something with cardio and weights. Gotta get DD ready for school. She woke up late today and my 2 yr old son is sleeping on my bed and still not awake (not like him to sleep in, lol).

P.S. DS doesn't sleep in my bed, he dragged himself to my bed this morning I guess because it's cold and he needed the heat. :)

Vilma: Have fun with your workout today! I'm also looking forward to the time change. I don't like cold dark mornings either.

BB later :)

Good morning ladies...

Today I am going to try and tackle Amy Bento's Advanced Step Challenge 2. It is a tough one with tricky footwork. So, I may end up switching to something else. But, I will give it a try....I am done with Cathe's October rotation and decided to try some other workouts that I have....

Today is the kid's PE class and CCD at church..

Gotta go get breakfast and school started..

Talk to you later..

Good Morning girls!

Are you getting excited for Halloween yet?

We're going to the school's Haunted House tonight. It's always fun for the boys! They're pretty pumped about it...

I was sitting here debating on which circuit to do, and I'm thinking LIC: Lower Body Circuit Premix is getting me excited. I toyed with the idea of taking the rest of the week as a 'rest week'. But I DID do a semi-rest week in Sept. when I broke my toe (why am I relieved I don't *have* to take rest days??

Good to see you up bright and early, Vilma. I know what you mean about the darkness. This morning I just could NOT get out of bed at 5:45. And I mistakenly closed my eyes, and didn't wake up until 6:15! That small 1/2 hour threw my morning off.

Ivy: it's cold here too and the wind is blowing! BUT it's sunny, and that makes me happy! My "baby" , 7 years old now, comes in my bed in the middle of the night most nights too, to snuggle. I don't mind it. It won't last forever!

Kathy: have fun with Amy! It's kind of nice to do other workouts , I bet, for a change.

Good morning! Vilma, that's too funny about DH going through the change as well! :) Glad you figured out that one.

Kathy, I'd love to hear about Amy's ASC II. I didn't even consider buying it because I know her choreography is just too -- way too -- hard for me! :) Cathe's rotation must have been short this month if you've already finished it, no?

Chris, I so know what you mean about those snuggly times not lasting forever. My 7 year old is so much fun these days! Still so cute but able to do more and have more conversations, etc. Last night I was staring at him thinking that 7 is the perfect age. :) Have fun at the haunted house!

I did Anni Maris (SP?!) cardio force this morning. First time I've done one of hers -- in fact, I just found out about her recently on VF forums. I'm still on my quest for cardio that doesn't beat up my body. This one definitely fits the bill -- I'm really psyched about it. With my cold, I just couldn't keep up with quite a bit of it, but she has some things that really get your heart up without any pounding. Fun factor compared with IMAX 2 is not there, but.... the time went by quickly enough. Then there's a good abs section at the end.

Oh Vilma, since you can't get to a RKC instructor, that's why I'm passing on whatever tips I get..... I don't mean to make you envious or rub it in your face -- just hoping to spread some wisdom, if possible.

Hope everyone has a great day! Stay warm! We're still meant to get to 79 here today.

-Beth

Good Morning everyone!! I just finished w/ IMAX 2.....and had to put my laptop on top of my tv to play the dvd because we lost power just as I was about to turn on my dvd player! I was like "are you kidding me?"...thank god for a charged laptop! Thankfully we got it back on the 9th interval...lol

BBL hopefully............

Hi ladies! No workout this morning...but I'm planning to tackle CCv6 during my lunch.

Kathy, I was thinking about you the other day as I was working with Caitlyn on her school work. She has a tutor come to the house for an hour a day, but we still work on some stuff with her. It's been so fun watching her learn how to read! I realized how rewarding homeschooling must be. She just gets so excited when she "gets" it. It's so cool watching her progress and you really don't see that as much when they are in traditional school. I have to say that I'm glad she's in Kindergarten and not fifth grade, 'cause I couldn't teach 5th grade math! She's going back to school soon, hopefully Monday. We're waiting for the doctor to write her release note.

Iris, glad you were able to get Imax2 in with no power!

Beth, I have cardio force and did it once. I really enjoyed it. You're right - it's not as fun as Imax, but the moves change so often you don't get bored. She does every move for just a minute, then changes to something else. I love hearing about your kettlebell clinic. I ordered a DVD, so will be trying them out soon. I have to buy one first, of course! Hopefully Target still has them.

Chris, I'm getting pretty excited about Halloween. I took the day off work so I can go to the kid's halloween parade and parties at school. They have a half day and it's on a Friday, which is good. LIC lower premix sounds fun! I love the step in that one.

Ivy, how cold is it in Florida? We're dark and cold here, too. Frost on the car windows this morning - ugh!!

Vilma, glad you figured out you and hubby weren't going through the "change" quite yet! :)

BBL...

Hi All - I have some time before I need to go out and run some errands in town.

Finished On The Edge and ended up doing the 40m and 12m blast with the bell. It was a good sweaty workout :p

Chris
I think this household has been excited for Halloween since the end of September . :D I finally took my youngest to Hot Topic over the weekend and got her wings to finish her costume.

She's going as a dark fairy, goth makeup, bright blue and black clothes and hair extensions in turquoise. My oldest dd is mad because she's working Friday night. DS is going to hang out at his friends house so its just me and the youngest this year.

I plan on wearing my weighted vest under my cloak as we walk around the neighborhood trick o' treating lol

I still snuggle with my 10 yr old - the time goes by so fast :( So enjoy!

Beth No No I'm not feeling that way at all ! :)

I'm eating up any and all info I can get so please keep on posting away how your sessions are I had no idea your trainer was that lady !

I've been to her website many times before and love her trick with the sock. Granted I forget to do it but my hands are doing so much better. lol

Yup we figured out the reason for the night sweats - too darned funny! So now I just kick off my quilts. I absolutely adore my mattress and totally forgot it has a tendency to retain heat during the winter.

Joanne
I did V6 yesterday so I hope you get those endorphins pumping :)

Kathy, Ivy
& Iris Big Hellos going out to you both :D

Have a Wonderful Day I need to get moving now

Good afternoon Ladies,

Today I did Kelly Coffey Meyer Cardio Sculpt Fitness and it was my very first time and it was very good but not intense like Cathe’s. So, I feel like I kind of did a beginner/Intermediate workout. The sculpting section was good, but I think the cardio should have been more intense and longer.

Kathy: Have fun with ASC2, I had that one and it was fun. It does have tricky foot work.

Chris: Have fun with the circuit workout you choose today. The Haunted House at school sounds fun! I hope you guys have a great time!

Beth: WTG on your workout.

Iris: WTG with Imax 2!!

Joanne: In the morning it was about 40 degrees, and right now it’s 60. But the weird thing is that we went from 85 degrees down to 40!!! Shocker! LOL!

Vilma: WTG on your workout today!

Well, I’m going to finish LaundryMax and maybe switch my bedroom around. I like to move my furniture around from time to time. I hope you all have a great day! I’ll BB tomorrow!

Hi ladies..

Ivy: The footwork is super tricky. I survived it and did ok. I have to work on learning it. The last combo I just looked and got half way..

Joanne: I am so glad to hear that Caityln is doing so well. It is really rewarding. I know that I had a hand in their knowledge. God has graced me with two wonderful children and the ability to stay home and teach them. I am truely blessed. Hope the dr gives her a clean bill of health soon..

Iris: Way to go on quick thinking and using that laptop. Where there is a will there is a way right?

Beth: It wasn't short. I just skipped some of the days that said cycling and running and did the other days. I wanted to have the last week to try other workouts. I did enjoy Amy's ASC 2. There is a learning curve to that one. This is the first time I was able to stick with it all the way through. I feel it is learnable (know what I mean?) I will get it eventually. That last combo needs extra attention from me though. It was tricky!! She is tricky. But, I feel it is a challenge I like to take sometimes..

Chris: Have fun with the haunted house. My kids do not like haunted houses. They do like the halloween hayrides though. The pumpkin patches around here all have them..I think I read in yesterday's thread that you got a call from the magazine. Good for you. Did you get selected? If so, congrats..let us know so we can buy the magazine that month...

Ok, well I am checking back in with Amy Bento's Advanced Step Challenge 2. It was tricky in some spots. But, I was thrilled to be able to stick with it all the way through. I have work to do on it. But, I think it is possible that I may learn it. I just have to slip it in the rotation so I don't forget and so I can learn the trickier parts..

Anyway, we are off to our PE class and then CCD..

Have a great rest of the day..

Iris, I have to use my laptop for GS Legs because my dvd player freezes on it for some reason, but kudos to you -- if my power goes out, I take it as a sign that I'm meant to go back to bed! :)

Joanne, the kettlebells are fun -- just a new way to mix things up -- let us know how you like them. And if you don't know about the sock trick yet, ask me -- it's really saved my hands!

Vilma, Tracy's blogs (plural) are great, aren't they? I love her Food and Thought one -- so many great ideas on what to do with vegetables and soups to make. She's got me seriously considering buying a pressure cooker -- anyone have one? But, her physical potential blog also has a lot of good ideas on kbell workouts -- I think she's going to shut that down soon -- it seems people have been stealing her ideas without crediting her and she's not so thrilled with that.

Kathy, knowing what I know of Amy's choreography, I'm not sure it would be learnable for me! :) If they have it on netflix maybe I'll try it sometime. I'd like to see it -- as I remember from the clips it has really fun music, right?

Ok, back to my cleaning.......

-Beth

Hi again!

I ended up doing the entire LIC. It seemed silly to do JUST lower body. It was good, and easy enough on my calf. 600 calories burned too!

Beth: It seems I love any age my youngest is. I think it's because he's the 'baby' and my other 2 seem to grow up so quickly. He doesn't so much! . I'll have to check out that Anna Maris on collagevideo. It sounds interesting! Hey..did you read that thread on getting older and constantly doing workouts that "beat you down"? It was very thought provoking.

Iris: Good for YOU for figuring out how to finish your workout! The power outage would have totally thrown me. I'll have to keep the laptop in mind if that ever happnes. And of course, IMAX2 is worth every bit of it!!

Joanne: How cool you get to teach Caitlyn at home a bit. I would imagine it would VERY rewarding . I never thought of that joy of seeing them "get it". !! CC sounds like a good workout> I'm jealous you can run! Great news you get to have part of Halloween off with the kiddos!!

Vilma:
Would love to see pictures of your Halloween crew. You're dressing up too, right? I LOVE the idea of wearing the weighted vest T or T'ing! I might do that as well! That might wear off the candy I *might* eat on the way!!

Ivy:
It's fun to do new workouts, though, isn't it? Sometimes I think it's good to do lighter versions. I mean, you can't always to high intensity.

Kathy: I suck at complicated Step choreography. I have a workout I got a LONG time ago (on VHS) that was complicated and I tried it once or twice, and that was it. At least in Cathe's, she always has some familiar moves. I admire you for being able to jump in there and do the whole thing through, even missing some of it. ... The haunted house has 2 sides to it. One side is SCARY, the other side is just for littler kids. The college kids put it on, and they are all dressed up and are in horror 'scenes', but in the little kid one, they say "Hi" and wave and smile! I like that one myself (I don't like to be scared!!).

I have a pot of soup on for supper.... so get to chill for a bit. ..

Hi guys....I'm a very pissy and pouty hottie scientist for the past two days. Remember how I was holding off on BM2? Well, its been put on hold permanently because I apparently seriously injured my back. So, was in bed all day. So all my experiments out the door. All that great weight loss? Probably out the door too because DH just gets me chinese takeout when I can't cook. I'm stressing out like hell too because I'm flying back home for a couple days to give a deposition but in two more weeks I have to present for my lab my work and I really wanted to get some more data in before that (I had a really bad stretch of months where nothing was working). Husband is not letitng me do anything...which is good but I feel even worse because I just feel even more useless. I'm letting him do GS C&T now but that's because I apparently shot daggers out of my eyes when he tried to do Kickmax last night so he "cancelled" that. Wah, wah, whine, whine....

Iris -- that's awesome on doing Imax2 on your notebook. It totally sounds like something I would do.

Kathy -- I'm curious about the Advanced Step too. I actually love complicated step work. I get a bit frustrated in the beginning but you've heard me in these posts about how I doggedly work on them until I get it right. I think I convince myself that I could be graceful or coordinated and the best part is that I'm so focused on getting the footwork right that I don't even realize how many calories I'm burning.

Joanne -- that's great spending time with Caitlyn. I really like teaching a lot and I get a thrill when my students finally understand concepts. But I'm not sure if I could ever teach my future children well. If my kids are going to be like me, they're just going tb bored with everything and annoy me and if they're going to be like my husband, they're just going to drive me batty.

Vilma - sounds like a lot of fun. I don't see T or T'ers in LA really...

Ivy - maybe you should make your own netflix company for exercise DVDs using your library. ;-)

Beth -can you clean my house? KB training sounds cool. I was telling my husband about it and he's slightly intrigued. It sounds like his thing more than mine but we'll see.

OH, i totally forgot to tell you guys this because of my poutiness and crapstorm. My husband saw Fitness by Cathe at Big 5 and bought me the non-latex resistance bands. NEITHER OF US CAN GO HIGHER THAN THE PINK!!! LOL! But its good to have a real challenge.

Ok, I'll be around pouting...

Checking back in with CCv6 done! Yea! I have to thank all of you for motivating me in an indirect way! I really was not motivated to do it at all and kept thinking I should just go grab my lunch from the fridge and skip the workout. Then I thought, well, I told my checkin buddies I was going to do it, I don't want to have to come back and say I wimped out! So I just grabbed my bag and went to the gym. Got in about 4.25 miles and feel much better now.

Chris, wow, 600 calories is great for LIC!! It's easy on the joints, too. I need to start wearing my HR monitor again. I always love all the ages my kids are at and think they are the best!! Although, I'm seeing glimpses in my 12-year-old that the "tween" years might not be the best! :( He's a great kid, but there have been some door slamming incidents and eye-rolling.

Hopefully we can all post Halloween pictures of our kiddos!

Beth, yes, tell me what the sock trick is!

Kathy, wow, good for you for getting most of the choreo on ASC2. I remember working on that one and getting the first 2 or three combos, but never got back to it. It was definitely a fun workout, though. I also have her third one that I've done about half of, that's good too. I love her hi/lo and kickbox stuff. Can you tell I buy just about everything people talk about fitness related? ;)

Ivy, is that KCM latest cardio sculpt workout? I think her first one is harder. Have fun rearranging! I need to do that - good opportunity to clear out all those dust bunnies that gather under the furniture.

Vilma, sounds like you and your kids will have a blast on Halloween. The vest is a good idea!
