It's not funny! I was out shaveling the snow from 10 am until 1 pm. I digged out 2 cars and the driveway. Still, now that I'm sitting on the couch I think that I must go down to the basement and "exercise". My whole body hurts! Isn't that sick?
BTW -- somebody should make an exercise video of snow shaveling... what a fantastic core workout! :)

Hee hee!! I can relate to a certain extent. I woke up Thurs (my off day) with a migraine. Spent the morn on the couch resting. The whole time thinking I need to work out. Of course my head was pounding so I didn't. x(

Rest days are tough for me too...especially if they happen to coincide with the day I have my one cheat meal for the week! Then I feel like a total slacker! LOL

I did the opposite. I just shoveled through a 5 foot snow drift after completing SJ&P...should've shoveled first!

OK - I am not the only one - thank heaven!!! I shovelled all night, twice this morning and dug out 2 cars. Then I came in and cleaned the house. THEN - I thought I should workout so I put in Step Fit and 25 minutes in, I realized my whole body was very achy and stopped. By the way, yesterday I did Cardio Kicks, pm callanetics and took a one hour pilates class BEFORE the snow came and I shovelled all night.;-)

You are so not alone on that one. It does seem like we are sick in one respect...but just imagine if we weren't that way. I would be a cow. I love my fun food and working out it my way of making that seem ok...of course I like the healthy heart benefits.:D

I can relate. Yesterday I did Body Max in it's entirety and then went outside to shovel snow. Did the whole driveway, sidewalk, steps, and the parking spot in front of the house. Shoveled it all over again that afternoon. Today's my supposed 'rest' day and I shoveled yet some more. DH told me today he was thankful that I worked out (he didn't help yesterday because he was called into work). I guess that's his way of saying that he's okay with me ordering more Cathe videos, right? LOL

My core is a little tender today and I don't think it was Body Max that did it.

The end of the story? I just couldn't do it -- I mean the rest part. I put an hour of cardio in, listening to some new music that I've just downloaded yesterday!
I'm so happy that I'm not alone and I'm in good company!:) :) :) :)

WOW! How much snow did you get? Here in Buffalo, we only got about 7 inches. It took DH and me less than an hour to shovel our driveway, which is really pretty long.

I didn't exercise yesterday, though. Shovelling threw my whole schedule off. I did learn a lesson, though. My 4 year old daughter is not old enough for her own cell phone yet. I gave her DH's phone because she wanted to stay inside and watch Clifford while I went out and shovelled. I had my cell with me and showed her which button to push if she needed me for anything. So...about 10 minutes later, the phone rings. It's Teri..."ummm...I miss you." Then a couple minutes later, it rings again, "ummmm....I like your hair." Then a couple later, "I'm watching Dragon Tails". Then another, "My pony misses you."

So cute! But didn't help me get the driveway shovelled very quickly. I had actually been kicking around the idea of giving her one when she goes to kindergarten so she can call me if she needs me. Now I know what her idea of "needing me" is! We'll wait another 4 years I think.

Mari....darn...no snow here and now you make me want to shovel!!! :)...I get accused of being Obsessive Compulsive ALL the time, I always thought it was because of the distance running (and you are familiar with that)
Not sure I remember when my last rest day was.......

I can sympathize. When I visit my mom, she thinks I am crazy b/c we shop all day long (or walk the beach or whatever) and I still take in a workout afterwards. She is like "wasn't that enough? We;ve been going all day long!" and I am like "uh, no, we walked around the mall for a while Mom!"

...I will say this though..I stuck with shoveling only this storm b/c I've been sickly and I didn't want to compeltely overdo it.
