Oat Bran vs Oat Flour

I want to make these no-bake protein bars I saw on a fitness website. The recipe calls for oat flour but I couldn't find it so I just figured I could sub in oat bran (everything gets finely grained and there is no baking required so I thought it might work). What do you think?

Melissa, I make my own oat flour simply by putting oats (either old fashioned or quick-cooking) in a grinder (coffee grinder) and use as-is. I'm not sure about subbing oat bran, but give it a try...WHY NOT?!?!?!?!

Being that they're no-bake you should be fine. The baking would be the major issue, so you should be good. You could possibly substitute whole wheat flour if you wanted to, as the texture would be the same/very similiar.
