Hey Toasty! I think you should go with the black. It compliments the skirt nicely and gives you a nice, clean line. Of course, yoiu would look good in a potato sack--lol!

I'm voting for the black top as well. Did you say what you were getting dressed up for or did I miss it. Either way have fun. I don't get dressed up to ofen either. So have a good time.

What would be perfect is the form and shape of the black tee but in the colours of the flowery top. The skirt needs a vibrant colour to liven it up. Black doesn't really complement it all that well, especially now entering the Spring season. But I agree with the general consensus that a frilly skirt and a frilly top is way too much frills.

What would also look great is an embroderie anglaise or cream coloured fine material in a close fitting corset/bodice type top. The detail on the top could be in the fabric, detailed stitching, rather than a riot of pattern and colour.

I agree. Clare should be on Oprah! My DD has a black bodice. I haven't came across a cream one anywhere.
