I just wanted to tell everyone that this movie scared the &*^# out of me last night!! This movie was SO FREAKY!! I haven't seen a movie as scary as this in a really long time. If you like scary movies..go see this one!!

I saw just a clip of this movie and it scared me half to death! I can't wait to go see it! It looks a little reminiscent of The Ring - that was a creepy movie, to say the least.

I saw the subtitled original Japanese movie and thought it was OK...they make better ANIME...I thought it was going to need some work to make it pass for our movies and can't wait to see what they did to it. It had some good scenes but needed some direction.

the american version of the grudge has the same director as the japanese version, so people are saying that's why it's so good. he's getting to remember what scared people with the original and can add to it. i can't wait to see it!!!

I liked the movie because it had a lot of "jump" factor... it made me jump quite a few times. However, I feel it needed more direction. It left some questions unanswered. *** Don't keep reading if you haven't seen it..*******

(i.e. how come everyone else died except s.m.g.???)

I watched the new version. Trust Sam Ramai to be involved!!! It fixed some of the time spans which the Japanese version had a bit of a problem with but I think the Japanese version made more sense when it came to why the husband killed his wife and son in the first place. The original version the wife had an affair and the child wasn't his.

I didn't see the Japanese version, so I had nothing to compare it to. It was scary to me because of the "jump" factor as B said, but some of the story did seem a little vague. I still liked it though and thought it was better than I had expected. I think I will see the Japenese version and compare the two.

I just have to say that I went and saw this movie last night and did not sleep AT ALL!! I'm so tired today that I don't know how I'm gonna get through my Cathe time today!!! (treadmill + L&G to be exact) I love scary movies, but I can't be by myself for at least a week after I see one like that!!
IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN IT YET STOP READING NOW!!!!

The part at the very beginning scared me so much that I was really wondering if I should have just gotten up and left then b/c I knew I wouldn't sleep that night!!! I do have to say that the story was a little disappointing (lacked explanation) and that the ending SUCKED!!! My only theory is that they're setting it up to have a sequel.}(

Is this movie "The Sixth Sense" type scary or "Friday the 13th" type scary?
I love suspense but can't stand cut'em up films.

I wouldn't compare it to either. It reminded me of The Ring. There was one pretty bloody scene. The cinematography(sp) was such that it kept me on the edge of my seat. I was holding poor DH arm...it will probably never be the same. At one point I actually screamed out load and didn't even realize it:7

I loved it...but I love scary movies that revolve around ghosts. I do not like Friday the 13th type movies.

i can't wait for the sequel to the ring! i've a read a little about hte japanese series (there are about 5 movies i think). from what i read it turns a lot more scifi to start explaining how everything int he ring happens and the background of the child. and it all sounds sooooo freaky!

Haven't seen this but the clip on tv was kinda scary-strange!
