We are thinking of taking a vacation to Rapid City, South Dakota. Anyone have any recommendations on places to stay? Not big on the fancy hotels. Don't really like to spend over $100 for a room. But just want something clean, nice, maybe with a restaurant. We'd be going either in early summer (May-July) or fall (September - October). We live near St Louis, MO and were thinking of driving (about 14-15 hours)but with the gas prices lately it might pay off to fly (I hate flying). Any suggestions?
