O/T: Decorating with border ....help

Got a new house and much is being done right now. Doing border and want to know if I should keep extending border into hallway as room is not closed in or should I leave border where it is as seen in pictures. BTW, border is colonial with ships/maps as we have a colonial style house. Any help..opinions appreciated.

Hey Charlotte,

I love the stained glass in the front. How beautiful is that! I love the fireplace too. Did you move far from your previous house? You'll have to post more pics of the house so we can all see your new digs!!! How fun to move into a new house, and a lot of work.

Just my opinion, but I would probably continue with the border. The walls are so white and it gives the room some character.

I notice you don't have curtains or shades yet so you should conider what kind of window coverings you will be using so you don't end up covering up all the natural light.

Good Luck with your decision.

Hi Char,

I would also continue with the border-it looks beautiful.

I cant wait to see more pictures-congrats on the new house and enjoy!!

We have a room that is similar, in that one wall is shared with part of the hallway. Everything is the same color. I often wonder how we would paint/paper there if I wanted to do something different. Is there an obvious stopping point from where the next room/hall starts? You could always end it there. Also, if the rooms will be diffent types of decorating, I would not carry the paper over. Lastly, when we got our house, I stuck with everything being the same, and I'll tell ya, I am tired of looking at the same damn walls everywhere. When we added onto our house, I changed the look of each room a little for variety. Sorry for the profanity and longwindedness.
