(You can link to both from the "Living" tab) The original article has loads of links for on-line "plus size" bridal shopping.
12 years ago when I married my first husband, I remember being a size 7 (sigh) and having to buy a size 12 wedding dress and being really bummed out. I also remember having bride's maids from size 0-16 (7-38 in "bridal size") and being so PO'd at the industry. Then my sister wed last summer. I am now a size 9/10, and I had to order an 18 which had to be taken in all over-the 2 piece set cost me $300, and the alterations $150. (Good thing I love my sis) I mean, I know it shouldn't matter, but it DOES! Who wants to pay $150 or more for a dress, called a "MAID" or "MATRON" dress, that says it's a size 22? And the poor bride...what, only Calista Flockheart bods deserve a wedding dress? (As you can see, this topic spoke to me. :) )
Anyway, thought I would pass it on. Both the article and the responses are touching as well as maddening, in some respects. Good read!
