Nursing and exercising

Hello everyone!

I just had my 4th child 6 weeks ago and I am back at my prepregnancy weight. This is my second time breastfeeding (I breastfed my 3rd child as well) and I really need to tone up my body again. You know, get those abs tight again. This is the only child that I exercised throughout my pregnancy using Cathe's tapes and I really want to get back to using them again because let me tell you, I looked really good being pregnant with my legs and arms so in shape muscularly. I want to get my body back in shape but I heard that if I exercise I will decrease my milk supply. Is this true? Will my milk supply decrease if I start exercising again? Did anyone experience that?
Help, I need Cathe!!!

I don't think that is true but do make sure you eat enough calories and drink enough fluid to allow for both the breastfeeding and workouts. Breastfeeding burns major calories...if I remember correctly (I used to do weightwatchers) it was an extra 10 pts per day, which in WW language is 500 calories. If you do that you should be ok. I never had a problem with decreased supply and working out.

What I remember the most about BF was to drink, drink, drink (water of course;) ) I started back to working out slowly at first but never noticed BF being affected by my working out. I just always tried to time it so that I fed her right before I worked out. It helped not being full when jumping all over the place, and it made her happy and typically put her to sleep so that I wouldn't get interrupted while working out. Just my own experience.
