I love that perhaps I've confused Robin.}(

"Just tell me to shut up if I get annoying."

No problem. Same deal goes for you.

Oh, and if Judy tries to get us to Flylady her house, I'm outta there;)

Bwaaa-haaa-haaa, Flylady Judy's house. I think we should take over Judy's house and un-flylady it. Can you bring your stealth outfit?

And, yes, Melody, Doris Day. It's a very sexy song they used in one of my favorite movies, Strictly Ballroom.

<---would hate to give Judy a stroke
Wait, wrong thread. I really, really hate cardio.
Wait, still wrong thread.
Rhoch-cha-cha!!!!!!!

OK. The top 3 threads now have my name on them. Does that mean I win the jackpot? Heading out for now. See you tomarrow, which is Twomoresleepsbeforerochchachaday.

Yikes!
I leave town for a minute and my friends plan to trash my house!

OK Shelly and Robin and Mar I will PM you the restaurant. I figure 12:00 at the restaurant? Or I canpick you up at your hotel and we can ride together. Let me know which hotel.

Yes! What she said ^^^^!!! :7
You'll all be sorry if you forget, you hear!? She'll open a can of whoop-@$$ on y'all if ya don't listen to her!}( }( }(

I'm still sorry I can't go. DS#1 is opening the first of two art shows this weekend. He is an ar-teest. DH is NOT happy with DS#1's choice and keeps pushing him to join the local construction union. I'm hoping that seeing DS#1's art will help ease some tension.

So, instead of fun in Rochester I will again be trying to neutralize DH's practicality and DS's passion.

Please take pix...I will definitly need to live vicariously through y'all.

Hey Tammy,

I didn't know you had an arteest. Me too! My 25 yo, and people have squished his dreams to the point I don't know if he'll ever "return". Good for you, support the arteest.:)

Thanks Melody. It is so hard because it is such a different lifestyle. Did your son go to school and what is he doing now?

Tammy,

My DS was born with it. At age 6 months when he picked up a crayon, I could easily identify everything he drew. He never scribbled.

Beginning in early teens years when "Mr. free-minded arteest" finally agreed, we put him with an artist friend who was an art teacher for private lessons. He learned he didn't know everything, in other words, he learned a method to the madness and how to really harness his talent. He also attended a magnet art school during middle and high school years.

He has become completely disillusioned, will not continue with school, and currently does not use his art skills whatsoever. This all came from a "bad girl friend" in high school who really messed with his mind (loooooong story, she was a witch, I mean really, a self-proclaimed witch).

I gently try to nudge him, but no use it seems. It breaks my heart.

Oh Melody, that is so sad! You described my son to a "t"! Dh tried to make him do want he thought he should do and it backfired really bad. He flunked out of his first college because it wasn't his choice, but DH's.

We brought him back home, and after some floundering about, he enrolled at a local college. He took some art classes and all of a sudden he became passionate about something. He continued to attend this local college majoring in fine arts and he seems to have found himself. He is trying to transfer to FIT in NYC, but his grades haven't been great in the all non-related art classes.

He has been a late bloomer all his life, and he is finally passionate about something and I am trying to encourage him. Unfortunately, it goes against everything DH is about.

Thanks for sharing your story with me!
