Normal to "fillout" in your 20's?

Cathlete
I'm almost 27 and I've realized that I can't wear my underwear from when I was in college because I get that lovely roll of fat hanging over on my hips. I don't exercise as much but I'm relatively the same clothing size/weight- I'm just a little bigger in my waist/hip region.

Is this normal to "fillout" after your early 20s or am I just gaining weight cause I only workout 2-3x/week vs 3-5xs/wk?

Thanks for any input!

RE: Normal to

Have you recently started any medications? There are alot of meds that will make you gain weight pretty fast. Also, the metabolism slows as you age unless you activly challenge it. I just turned 26 and my metabolism and i are NOT friends!

RE: Normal to

Oh, I can already see the bashing from the thirtysomethingers and the fortysomethingers. LOL. (ducking)

Honestly, it is likely just your drop in activity. Your muslce mass begins to decline at age 25 but this really shouldn't happen so much to you if you are strength training with Cathe. It is likely just decreased activity total and maybe slightly more eating....

On a positive note, if you are working out with Cathe you are well on your way to losing that roll. :)

Or, like me, you can buy underwear a couple sizes too big or don't wear any at all. Nothin' worse than feelin' fat rolls. Uggh.
