I know I got one resonse from someone that didn't like this elliptical, well I just spent an hour on one at sears and need I say the salesman wasn't to happy when I didn't purchase I told him I would get back to him on friday. I really felt my legs working and no stress on the knees at all which was nice. I use to power walk a lot and my legs were nice and toned, I really put a 100% in my walks swinging my arms and walking real fast and then I would jog for a while. I just think would I just be better off power walking jogging/and using the treadmill also, sometimes I do have a knee that gives me a little pain but I just work through it, so that is why I was checking out the ellipticals. My husband said if I want it get it, but I need to think about it. I suppose in the light whether I could be outside early in the morning and winter use the treadmill.
I think I told you all it was the elliptical cx925
ANY AND MORE SUGGESTIONS. I guess i have a lot of thinking to do.

Well good night everyone. Maybe I should just spend 5.00 on a knee brace when my knee acts up.

Well sorry to go on, but I figured some of you exercisers would have some feed back for me.

take care Debbie:) :D

Debbie,

I bought the NordicTrack CX985 Elliptical in December. I LOVE IT. This model doesn't have the moving arms (I swing my arms with 1 or 2 lb. handweights and am fine). Bought mine directly from NordicTrack at the NordicTrack store in a mall near my home. They delivered and assembled it for a nominal fee. If you check the NordicTrack website, you might be able to locate a store near you. They will also sent it to your home if you order online.

Keep trying out different models. I found that while I was shopping, price made a huge difference in the quality and stability of the machine. As with treadmills, there is a lot of junk for sale out there. Take your time shopping too. Remember, that salesman is probably on commissioned sales. Don't let him pressure you. You'll know when you find the right one.

Good luck :)

Thank you very much. The one I tried out seemed very stable, and it had the swinging arms. I think I was on it for about 30 minutes. The only thing it didn't have was the electronic incline. It did have the panel where you could change the resistance. It is on sale for 589.00 instead of 800.00.

It did feel great on the knees though. I have had a treadmil for years, I am going to try that out this weekend,it is a lifestyler and have had no problems with it at all. I think. I am running out of room, I also have a total gym 2000, which I use on occasion.
I use to only power walk/jog until I got Cathe and I know how good the ellpiticals are suppose to be for you. Just after a few minutes I could sure feel it in my legs.

I wish I could find a place close by I will check out there websight.
The salesman did tell me if I could find that one on the internet cheaper he would math the price, so I better get busy, LOL.

How much did you pay for yours?.

Thank you so much you have been a big help. Have a great work out.

Debbie
:) :D :D

Sorry I meant the salesman would match the price, not math a little early yet, I need some coffee.

Debbie:) and thanks again.

Hi Debbie. I think with delivery and set up it was about $900. Believe me, paying for the assembly and setup was WELL worth the cost. The guy who delivered it had it assembled in 30 minutes! It would have taken me a week to do it! LOL The store had a Veteran's Day promotion (bought it in November, it took a month to have it delivered because they were sold out of it...just before Christmas...apparently treadmills and ellipticals are popular Christmas gifts!) My model has the power incline ramp and I think it's a good feature to have...eventually you'll peak at the same level and will want to give yourself more of a challenge, so that feature is nice to have. :)

It's always good to try these things out, if you can, before you buy. I was all set to buy an elliptical machine awhile back and I had the weird problem of them actually causing my knees to hurt...and not just one knee but both. I tried two different machines and had the same result. I don't know if the foot track things are too far apart for me so they put me in an unnatural position or what would be causing the pain in my knees but needless to say I did not buy either one and haven't tried any others since.

But they do seem like great exercise equipment if they will work for you.

pupswife,

Thanks for all your help. I think the electric incline would be a wonderful feature, my husband said get the one I want. So I might look on line tonight, I think the one you have looks nice and I don't think a person needs the arm movements, when I do my treadmill I swing my arms just like when I power walk. I would love it if you had time to talk to me . I am on my way back to work, but my email address is
[email protected].

I have questions for you and you have been a great help, thank you so much.

Debbie:) :7

THANK YOU!!! FOR TAKING THE TIME TO EXPLAIN ALL THE FEAUTURES YOU HAVE AND EVERYRHING. YOU HAVE BEEN VERY HELPFUL.

40something, sorry to hear the ellipticals hurt your knees. I did try one out last night. I was on it for about 30 minutes and it felt wonderful. I think I am going to really look around and do some research on them, and definately try them out. I will just continue with Cathe and now that it is lighter in the mornings I plan on a five mile power walk a few times a week with a little jogging. Thanks for your imput and have a great day.

Debbie:)
