Nobody beats Cathe for high intensity step!

I recently got Athletic Step Jam by Sharon Twombley. I understand that it is considered high intensity but I found out that it didn't match Cathe for intensity: next time, I think I will put a second riser under my step! (With Cathe, I get plenty of intensity with only one riser. The only workout where I use 2 risers is Low Max.) Cathe really can't be matched for high intensity!!!

p.s: Do you know other instructors that rival Cathe for step intensity?

Well, I have to disagree with you on this! I find Athletic Step Jam very challenging (and it is one of my faves) as well as many of my Cathe step workouts as well as Amy Bento's step workouts. I love Amy's step workouts for their intensity, music, complex and interesting choreography, fun factor, and sweat factor. :) I also enjoy Sharon's circuit workouts All Body Attack and All Body Cardio.

I have to agree with Angela. Athletic Step Jam starts of slow, but by the time it's done, it's tough! I love the straight forward step, too. I burn more calories with this one, then I do with any of Cathe's straight step workouts, actually. But I do use 8" - then I do use 8" with Cathe's, too.

Seasun Ziegler is another intense instructor, and she has complex choreography, too. I love her Rock Steady Step. That's the one I reach for when I want a killer workout. I'm always dripping by the end.

I also love Amy Bento. I only use 6" for Amy and Seasun because of the complexity. But they are both FUN!!!!!

Maybe it's because I tried ASJ only once and I didn't get in the intensity because I was too busy learning the choreography. I was planning on trying it again though because I liked it. ;)

And I do have to try Amy Bento and Seasun Zieger. They seem to be popular. If I know to expect complex choreography, I won't mind if for a while I stumble and get lost in the steps! ;)

It probably isn't as intense if you just use 6 inch step height. I never go up to 8 inches due to knee issues and I am only 4'11 and it's to much for my short legs. Though I do find the last step segment pretty tough using just the 6 inch. I really like ASJ.
