No Sweets-week of Thanksgiving!!!

OK ladies, the holidays are here. We must have a plan and put our "Game Faces" on as Cathe puts it!!! I expect to cheat on the holiday, but want to try to keep it in check!!! So I will try to pick and chose wisely what I eat. I hate wasting calories on something I don't like x(

Today I did heavy legs this morning and then LIS cardio with pullups during the blasts followed by KB abs.

Eating has been good today except a praline that DH made this morning. It was like eating pure sugar-YUK. That's what I mean by picking my cheats wisely!!

Well, today I woke up with a sore throat, my head hurts, my chest hurts, my muscles hurt, and I have nasal congestion. I just hope it's not the flu or a cold. Last week I went to the movies and a guy was coughing and sneezing and he sat next to me (ugh! some people just don't have manners). I was thinking the other day that the last year I got the flu was in '05, but when I sat next to that guy I thought well I will probably get sick in a couple of days and here I am. Good thing it's a holiday tomorrow for us in PR. I definitely did not do anything today. I spent the whole day in bed resting. When I feel better (hopefully tomorrow) I will do a short PS rotation for 2 weeks or so and then I'll do GS again. Yesterday I went to the mall and my mom was the one that did some serious shopping. I didn't feel well so I just took advantage of the underwear offers at Macy's and JCP. I didn't find the shoes I was looking for which means I might have to go back to the mall, but it won't be this week. Hopefully I will get better asap. Have a nice week ladies.

I am back on track with eating. Well at least till Thursday }(

I did heavy upper body today. I wonder when I'll ever get past 75# on my bench x( Other wts are progressing slowly. But the bench is just stuck!!! DH told me tonight it's not a race you know- LOL my voice of wisdom!! I am having some serious lower body doms from yesterday's leg w/o.

Hello! I am so looking forward to the holiday season. I really enjoy the spirit of love. You are right about keeping things in check. I need to keep my eating and my finances in check during the holiday season. This is a time that people are guilty of spending so much money and regret it later. I don't want to be one of them.

My family is headed out of town. Happy Thanksgivng to you both and I will check in next week.

My eating has been good this week so far. I did take a rest day yesterday. Will need to work super hard the next few days to make up for the holiday LOL!!

I'm back ladies. Wow 4 days without exercise. I was losing it! Today I finally started PS and I did SL&A. I definitely agree about keeping our eating and spending in check during this time. I think I got my eating under control. I always have a couple of treats, but I've been writing in my calorie journal since this summer and I pretty much know which things I can have, which things I should avoid, and which things I could have in moderation. When it comes to spending money, before I spend I always think about needs and wants. If it's something for myself it has to be something that I know I need and something I know I won't get at a better price somewhere else. I haven't bought a thing I want (just because) in a long, long time. When it comes to gifts depends on the person, but this year I'm determined to buy everything on sale and there are great deals out there.

As I was typing this my mom stopped by and she brought apple cinnamon pecan cake :eek: oh boy! lol! I better watch my portions starting NOW and I'm definitely exercising first thing in the morning tomorrow.

How was your Thanksgiving ladies? Today I did cardio + PS CST. Wow I forgot how heavy I can lift with the PS Series. That's why I love that series so much. No fancy moves, no bands, no fancy counts, just traditional heavy weight lifting. It's going to be hard to change it up again when I'm done with PS. Oh and the DOMS I'm getting is great. My muscles were getting used to GS.

I can't believe how well I ate on Thanksgiving. This one should be written as a new personal record somewhere. I just had turkey breast with no skin and a little bit of gravy (about 1-2 teaspoons), tons of salad and veggies, a little bit of potato salad for my carbs with just one teaspoon of mayo, a tiny (and I mean tiny!) slice of apple cinnamon pecan cake, and a small glass (about 6oz) of fresh squeezed grapefruit and orange juice that my mom made. I had no alcohol or soda, no stuffing, no cranberry sauce, no rice, no pies whatsoever, what else? lol! I pretty much avoided lots of things. I was really proud of myself and to my surprise I had a great day without feeling guilty about my diet. It can be done. Now I have to do the same things on all the upcoming events for the holidays.

It's so great that we've been here for such a long time. You ladies are great. I love our little check-in. I tell you it would've been very different if I didn't have to come and write about my diet in here.

Tomorrow is Black Friday. Are you going to buy anything? I'm definitely staying home and doing some cleaning. I have to go to the mall on Saturday to exchange a couple of things and to buy a new foundation. Ugh make-up! I definitely need something for the holidays. I haven't worn foundation in years, but I'm dealing with hormonal breakouts and now I need to cover my skin while it heals. It seems that my skin did a 180 after I turned 29 and it's stressing me out. Adult acne is tough to treat, but I'm sticking to the regimen my doctor prescribed and I'm hoping for the best. Do any of you experience this? It's just a pain...

WTG Rose!!!! You did awesome!!! You should be proud of your self. I am gonna have to get the rest of the PS series. I just have the legs on VHS and really like it. I too like just good ole straight forward lifting.

I did P90X Legs and Back. On my first set of chinups I did 8!!!! I have done that once before a couple of months ago and hadn't been able to repeat it. So that started the day off good. I did fairly well with eating. Not as good as you Rose!! I kept my portion sizes in control and did not go back for seconds. I did also had some orange juice. But it had champaigne in it LOL!! I had 1 small slice of pumpkin pie. I am happy with that. Enjoyed myself and didn't let it get out of control!!

I agree that this check in helped me keep things in line and I am very glad we are still here!!

No shopping for me today. I may go to lunch at Olive Garden :p But I will be careful :D

No exercise for me today, my DOMS is unbearable. I washed windows, mowed the lawn, and did some laundry. I am beat! I will do PS BBA plus some cardio tomorrow. I wore out my PS on VHS a long time ago, in fact the PS Series was the first Cathe series that I had on both VHS and DVD. I love it because I can lift heavy in a shorter amount of time and on those days I do upper body I can add short intense cardios to burn extra fat since the upper body workouts are less than 40 mins. I love GS, but I forget how much I love PS also. I have to go to bed early today because I'm going to the mall tomorrow. Ugh it's insane out there! I hope it calms down tomorrow.
