Hey ladies!! Wow this weekend went by quickly!! I am glad there's a holiday in a bit (july 4rth)

My mom had an early birthday lunch for me today. She had healthy food!!! But of course there was the chocolate pie :9 I had two pieces :eek: But whadda ya do?

I did B&G standing leg portion this morning and added extra sets of walking lunges and extra firewalkers. I am telling you my glutes were numb when I finished!! I did ME abs after that. This afternoon I did pullups. A total of 15- started with a set of 3 then several sets of 2 and a few singles.

How's your weekend been?

Hey there ladies! Rest day for me today, but my diet has been *very* clean.

So Catherine, when *exactly* is your birthday? You said your mom had an early birthday present... By the way, your workout looks awesome. If I take out the pullups I can try it one of these days.

Affirm, how are you? How's Max?
 
Fitfairy, it must be great to be feeling like 31 at 41. With all that working out...I know you look 31 too.

I have to figure out how to post pictures of Max. I am sorry, but I don't know how to do it. I hope to figure it out next week. Meanwhile, he is doing fine and is a great addition to the family. I am trying to figure out what to do to make sure that my house doesn't smell like Max. He is only a puppy now, but I worry about that as he gets older. Today, I let all the windows up for a few hours on the lower level of the house. I have some plug in airfreshners. Which one of you has dogs...fitfairy or Rose. I can't remember. Any advice on this issue.

Last night, I went out to eat with my friends. We went to this fabulous Brazilian steakhouse and I enjoyed some cheesecake for dessert. The weekend is now over, and I have to remember...NO SWEETS.

Hey Affirm. We both have dogs. My dogs do not sleep inside. I have a nice backyard and there's a door for them to go in and out my garage when they want to. They actually prefer the backyard because they both have lots of space to play and their doggie houses are also in the backyard. The only go inside the garage when it rains, but yesterday to my surprise they stayed in the rain. I think the temperature has been so unbearable (I only could exercise 2 days last week because it was so darn hot and humid) that they were actually loving the rain. My dogs were both rescued and are mixed breeds. They are very large and clumsy too.:7 I had a third one (pure breed, a yellow lab), but he died I think 2 years ago. I would love to have another yellow lab in the future. When my dogs were puppies they stayed inside. I don't even remember what I did about the smell. I know it didn't bother me and you probably will get used to it, but it can bother certain guests. I used Lysol spray all the time and I bought a powder (make sure your vet approves) for the puppies. The powder acts like a dry bath. It gets rid of the excess odor and oils without using water. I hope this helps.
 
I know my house smells like dogs. But oh well!! No one ever visits anyway LOL!

Today was upper body. I did the same wts but was able to up the reps on most exercises.

Would really like to see the weights increasing. But I know I must be patient and take it slow.

Eating was good today. Had a bit of an upset tummy :(

Today I had a very stressful day. Basically sometimes you can't please everybody and you have to pick a side and reject the other... and I'm still trying to pick a side. That always stresses me out. Anyway, I started doing some cardio and I stopped at 23 mins (due to my stress my intensity was a bit too high for me to finish the whole thing) after that I thought that maybe I could try yoga instead; I stopped at 11 mins because my mind was thinking about my day and I just couldn't focus on yoga. So that was Monday's workout. I think it was a crappy workout and I have to do better tomorrow. Now I just need a hot shower so I can go to bed really early.
 
Rose, I hope you took fitfairy's advice...as it was excellent. Some days are like that. Sometimes we even carry the worries of others and it stresses us out. I hope today is better.

I just finished the entire GS Back, Shoulders and Biceps. It has been a very long time since I have done this one and I had so much fun. I think I enjoyed it today more than I ever have before. I am not sure why. PUB is my favorite and I do it often and I like the Upper Body part of Muscle Max also. Maybe the change was good for me.

I hope to get in 2 upper body workouts this week since I only did one upper body and 3 cardios last week. I will see how it goes.
 
Today I had a better day, but I've been dealing with headaches all day so *again* I'm skipping my workout. Sometimes people have problems and you get caught in the middle and you have no idea what to do. I didn't know if I should pick a side or stay out of it. I decided to stay out of it and some people are mad. Oh well, I have enough stress as it is and I don't need more. If they're mad that's their problem. Tomorrow I'm going to start a lighter GS Rotation (lighter cardio and lighter weights). I've been having a really hard time getting back on track after I got sick a couple of weeks ago and the heat and humidity are not helping either. I guess I just have to make an effort and exercise first thing in the morning.

I also got a really scary phone call from my mom. She had a blood test and her cholesterol is 368! Yikes. Her diet can be cleaner but it's not that bad. She just has way too many treats on the weekends. She needs to be on meds and she's not so now she's going to start exercising again and doing all the things she's supposed to do. I have to check out my cholesterol, I don't even remember when was the last time I did that (probably two years ago or so). I've been slacking on my workouts and having problems with my diet too so my mom scared me straight. I'm still hanging on to my last 10 pounds so I'm glad I'm maintaining and not gaining, but when the doctor says I should do something they're usually right so I need to work harder to be at my ideal weight. At this point it's not just for my looks, but I'm scared for my health too. It is definitely the most important thing.

Affirm - so glad you tried GS BSB again. It is such a great workout.

Catherine - I took your advice last night and I swear that when I got out of the shower my mind was a lot clearer and my stress levels went down.

You gals rock! We have to push ourselves a little bit harder so we can reach our fitness goals.
 
Affirm, WTG on GS BSB!!! I love the GS. Except legs which I just don't like working LOL!!

Rose, glad you were able to relax last night. Sorry to hear about your headache :( I totally understand about being in the middle of a bad situation. It's best not to choose sides sometimes, but it's hard. I hope your mom is able to get her cholesterol under control!!

I did BM2 cardioblast plus abs and loved every minute of it. Well except abs LOL!!

Good Morning Ladies. Eating has been going better but not as good as it should be. I need to be drinking more water. It was so hot and humid yesterday.

This morning was IMAX2 intervals 1 - 6. Maybe next time I can get in intervals 7 - 10 also. My favorite interval is number 6 with the straddle tap. At least I ended with what I love the most. I hate those plie jumps. I guess that is why I rarely do IMAX3...it is just too high impact and I love my knees too much for that.

Today was lower body for me. Plus I did chinups 5,5,3,4.5,4,& 3

Squats 65# 1 set of 8 60# 2 sets of 8 (increase of 5# first set)
RDLs 70# 3 sets of 8(increase of 5 pounds)
Lunges 55# 2 sets of 8 50# 1 set of 8 (added 3rd set)
Plie Squats 43.75# 3 sets of 8 (same)
Calf Raises 27.5# 3 sets of 20

I am starting to see more definition in my quads since going heavier. If only I could get rid of more of the fat over them!!

Oh my gosh I exercised today! I did a short medium intensity cardio, followed by GS: BSB, and some abs. I know I have to keep it up for 2 weeks straight (rest days included) for it to become a habit again which means I have 13 days left. Oh my! My diet has been good, but I had some caramels from the candy jar at work (about ummm 5, maybe 6, I hate to post this though :eek: ).

Catherine - you need to add a tiny bit more cardio, before or after weight work, if you want to lose extra fat. The only thing is that it might make your workouts a bit longer.

By the way, tomorrow I'm doing GS: Legs.
 
Fitfairy, hang in there....you are doing great !

Rose...it will be easier for you to make it a habit again than me. As you remember, I went 2 months without consistency in my workouts. My goal is to take it one week at a time now. I did 4 workouts last week and I think I am already at 4 for this week. I would prefer to do 5, so slowly I will get there.

I really need to break down and buy another upper body tape....maybe slow and heavy.
