I think week one of year 2008 got to a good start for the 3 of us. My arms are aching today from PUB yesterday. Fitfairy, you are so right about that premix being a good workout. Actually, I rarely do the entire time. Anyway, today I walked on the treadmill again. I walked for 40 minutes at 4.0. I listened to my son's IPOD while I walked. I don't own an IPOD, but wow is that cool for the treadmill.

No sweets last week ( other than a few pieces of hard candy) and I am ready for week 2. Summer time, tank tops and shorts ....here we come!

On your mark, get ready, set...GO!!!! Look out July 2008!

I did heavy legs today and hit a PR!!! I worked my way up to squatting 95# for 4 reps. I know that doesn't sound like a lot, but I was working!! Looking forward to some lower body DOMS tomorrow :+

Rose, I hope you are doing ok with your back!! Keep your chin up girl. I know it's hard, but you've worked to hard to not!!!

Hi ladies. I haven't done a workout in 3 days. On Friday the doctor told me to rest and not do absolutely anything (not even my stretching exercises). He gave me a topical cream for the pain and I've been massaging my lower back for a couple of days now. I did my weigh-in today and I got on the scale 4 times just to make sure. I've lost a couple of pounds. :eek: I've been trying to eat clean, but the only thing that can explain my weight loss is that I haven't been weight training and I'm probably losing some muscle (not good!) I get so anxious and I want to workout right away, but I won't.

Affirm - I'm glad you did PUB after your break from weights and I can't even imagine the DOMS. PUB always gives me DOMS, but I know it's usually worse when someone comes back from a break.

Catherine - omg!!! 95lbs! That's a lot. Hubby better be good to you cause those quads might injure him lol!:7

It's a holiday tomorrow over here so I go back to work on Tuesday. My rest day #3 was today so hopefully I can do some legs and a light cardio tomorrow. Have a nice week ladies. I have a feeling this is going to be a great year for us!
 
Rose, I am glad you are listening to your doctor. Eating clean is definitely keeping things in focus for you. Way to Go!

Fitfairy---95 pounds sounds like a lot to me. Ii can't even imagine squatting that amount of weight...even if someone spotted me..

PUB is one of my favorite workouts. I rarely do PLB. I was recently reading on the forum about the Bonus combo. I never knew that it was a short total body workout. I thought it was just an add of some sort. I wonder why it wasn't just listed as a premix. Anyway, today was my first time trying it and I like it. I hate leg presses. I actually did them on the 10 inch box instead of 14. I want to save my knees.I figured that was better than nothing. I still use the old firm wooden boxes. Maybe one day I will buy the topper so I can do 12. Anyway, I did the Bonus Combo followed by the treadmill for an hour workout.

Eating has been going well. Yes, fitfairy, DOMS are still in affect. I took yesterday off.
 
Affirm, I didn't know about that bonus combo for the longest time. Once I found it I did it frequently. You know what they say about excercises you hate? You need them the most ;) I think 10 inches is just fine for the box!!

I will be doing some sort of cardio today, just don't know what.

Hey ladies. Just a quick check-in. I couldn't sleep last night and it was back to work today. My back is hurting pretty bad. I called my doctor and he said: "wow I normally tell people to exercise and you call me to ask me when can you exercise?!" I said that it helps me relax and it helps me with my chronic insomnia as well. He told me that if it still hurts tomorrow to go see him, but that I should be able to do something light tomorrow. I think that being seated at my desk all day hurt my back a bit more. I took my back cushion with me, but I think that the fact I didn't sleep well and my anxiety are not helping things. So it's 5 days of rest for me, but you're both inspiring me to exercise asap. It's driving me insane not to be able to. Have a nice rest of the week. I hope I can do something tomorrow.

Edited to add: I've been doing well with my diet. :)
 
Hi ladies. I did a light cardio today for about 30 mins and then I did section 1 of Stretch Max. Hopefully I can do something more intense as the days go by.
 
Rose, glad you got to workout and I hope your back is tolerating that ok!!!

I didn't really workout this evening. Was supposed to do Legs and Back and life got in the way. I did however manage to do 30 chinups in small sets. So that counts for something I guess. Tomorrow will likely be a rest day as I will be going to the funeral home after work(a friends brother passed). So unless I get up early (ROFLMAO!!!) and work out, it won't happen :+ Eating has been good though.

Fitfairy, you are so funny. I know you are not a morning person, but I AM! However, I can't do 30 chin ups in a week, better yet in one day :7

Rose, I am glad you were able to get in some cardio this week. It will get better just like last time.

This morning was the Cardio Blast of Drill Max. Thank God for Cathe and her Premixes, because I don't know what I would do. I had a great 40 minute workout. I working out in the basement and Max was sitting on the floor and walked over. I made a mistake and kicked him on one of the hamstring curls during the warm up and he jumped out of way and didn't come back over. It was so funny. I just laid there watching me workout and played with his toys. If a ball rolled over near me, it seemed as though he was afraid to come get it, so I would just give it back to him.

Eating has been good. I had a very very thin, small piece of cake yesterday for a co-workers birthday.
 
Oh, poor max!! He must have been traumatized!! Did he give a look like- what the heck did you do that for??

I agree with you about Cathe's premixes. I can not remember the last time I did a workout as is!!

Well, I didn't get up early to workout-suprise!! I thought about it for about 2 seconds and rolled back over. 5 am is just way to early for me!

Rose, how are you feeling after your workout? I hope your back did ok.

It's my last day of work for the week-yippeeeee!!! But I get to go to the dentist for some work tomorrow-YUK!!

Hey ladies!! I wasn't around much yesterday and I come back today and it looks like STS mania around here :eek: I got the email and read it. I keep going back and forth on preordering. I am sure I'll be first in line as soon as the link is up :+

No workout for 2 days x( I am planning heavy upper body today. Eating was good yesterday except a glass of wine and small square of dark chocolate. Both full of anti-oxidants :9

I just finished heavy upper body and am very pleased with self. I was able to increase the wt on all exercises at least for 1-2 sets of 3-4 reps. I won't bore you with all the details, but I worked up to benching 82.5 pounds for 3 reps!! I feel like I am finally getting stronger on my bench. I was stuck at 75 pounds for so long and was getting frustrated. I hope to get in some cardio later. That'll depend on how my dentist appointment goes!!

Hey ladies. I just finished a short cardio followed by SL&A (floorwork only; no hamstrings though) and section 3 of stretch max. Yesterday I did SL&A standing (no weight on some exercises, very light weight on others and I skipped sit and stands and deadlifts) followed by section 2 of stretch max. Now I'm cooking some dinner and doing a quick check-in. I just saw the STS announcement and I still don't know how much is the shipping to PR so I don't know how much will it cost me at the moment. I know it'll be pretty steep with the shipping (although every dollar spent with Cathe is money well spent) so I have to save a little bit of $$$ before placing an order. Just found out that I have to ask my questions on ask cathe because customer service won't be answering any sts questions (that was the email I just got). Oh well.

Affirm - Awww poor Max! I hope he's fine. He probably learned not to bother mommy while she's exercising.

Catherine - So you decided to rest for a couple of days. No biggie. I'm glad you're back to your normal routine. I don't know what to do yet about sts. I want them but I need to know how much is the shipping to Puerto Rico and how long will the presale last first so I can determine if I can save money in time or not. Ugh and I'm not getting a squat rack. I don't have enough space for that, but you now have a reason to get one.:p

Well, I didn't do cardio last night. Jaw was still numb from the dentist and was afraid I'd bite it hopping around and not know it :eek: I did manage to eat though and not good either. 2 mini burgers(not bad) but fries and tirimisu for dessert :9 So I've had my cheat and need to get back in line!!! Will be doing some cardio today. I think IMAX2 and maybe some chinups.

Rose, I saw your post to SNM and I think it's great that shipping is the same for you!!!

I did IMAX2 intervals 1-6 with some chinups after some of the blasts. I did 4,5,4,3,& 3 on the chins. My endurance has gone way done on these due to the down time. I really need to get back up to 7 and work my way up to 8!!! I also did C&W ab routine. I almost blew off the ab work, but made myself do it!!

It has always been like that but I didn't know if things had changed. I'm glad they're still the same. I thought I was going to spend around $100 on the presale and when I saw $199 I was a bit shocked cause I saved thinking it was going to be around $100. I understand the value though so I will save the other half to get them at the presale price.

Oh man! Last night I did something really stupid. I have a memory foam topper on my bed and for some reason I thought that it wasn't helping my back so I took it out. I woke up in the middle of the night with the worst pain I've ever felt. Not only my back and disk area hurt, but all the vertebrae from my middle to my lower back hurt and my hip flexors. I live alone so I had to call my parents to help me. My dad said I had to go to the hospital so I'm doing that tomorrow (I think, but I can't drive so they have to take me, jeez I'm 29, it's times like this when I miss my ex, but I immediately think about all the awful things he did to me and I'd rather have my parents take me :p). Pain meds don't do anything for me. I've been on many in the past and if I don't feel relief in about three days I stop taking them because I don't want to get addicted or anything like that. I've been on many meds (pain meds and muscle relaxants) and I just get sleepy (among other side effects). They really don't do anything for my pain. They talked to me about epidural injections the other day (those are right in the spine so I don't know if that will be an option, but it would be a first for me). I've been using the topical cream that my doc gave me the other day with a heat pad and that helps but today I feel worse that when I messed up my back a couple of months ago. So definitely no exercise until who knows when. x( I'll keep you updated ladies. Take care!
