No sweets -week Aug 26

Just finished the warm up and standing portion of Butts and Gutts. It has been a while since I did this one and I am so glad those firewalkers are near the end, because I don't think I could handle much more after those. I true burner.

Have a great day ladies. Eating is good.

Firewalkers!! I love me some firewalkers!! I often add them on to other workouts

I am hoping to do BM2 double upper body tonight. I am tired though. Slept on the couch- if you can call it sleep. Muffie was anxious due to storms and rain x( Sorry for the whine!!

I hope you all have a good day!!

Hey ladies. Like I said, today is my scheduled rest day. I definitely need it.

Catherine - I did Power Yoga for Beginners from Baron Baptiste. He has several of those. Mine's the first one and I don't think you can find it anywhere now, but his later productions are much better and you can find some beginner and intermediate power yoga dvds from Baron on collagevideo.com. I did a search and they have some interesting ones that I might get in the future.

Affirm - ouch firewalkers! I haven't done those in awhile. Good job.

Yes, fitfairy----I can feel those firewalkers. Muscles are aching---but I know that is a good thing. I am already thinking tomorrow may need to be a rest day.

Well today was a rest day for me. I went shopping and found nothing x( Oh well $$ saved I guess!!

Eating is still on track!! Avoided dessert while having lunch with sis today. Tomorrow I think I may do legs a day early because of Sunday's schedule. We'll see.

Affirm, are ya still having DOMS?

Rose, how's your back doing?

No rest day for me today. I did the first four kick/punch combos from KM, GS: BSB, and some abs. I did the stretch of KM, but I paused the DVD in the hip flexor stretches and I held them for one minute (there are 3 or 4 stretches for the hip flexors in KM) and I also held the cat stretch longer than usual (about a minute also). I read that when hip flexors are not stretched throughly that can hurt the lower back and it made sense because weeks before I was having lower back problems I was getting cramps in my hip flexors (sometimes I woke up in the middle of the night to stretch them because the cramps were awful). The beginner's yoga workout I did on Wed helped me a lot with my pain. Today I did the jumping jacks of KM (carefully) and the side kicks are getting better too. Like I said, I'm being careful, of course, but my back feels a whole lot better after that yoga session I did. I definitely have to add more yoga to my rotations and hold my stretches longer on those days I don't do yoga. I'm also learning that although I'm a high impact freak, it doesn't make a difference on my body to exercise without it. I don't have an impact resistant floor so I think doing more low impact is better for my joints when I'm exercising at home. When I can afford it I think I'm going to join a gym again so I can benefit from the flooring. I'll definitely take lots of interval training classes when I do that.

I hope you ladies have a nice loooong weekend. Labor day weekend already?! Wow! It's unbelievable!

Rose, you are rehabbing yourself well!! You are so right about the stretching and the lower back. So many things affect the back-hipflexors, hamstrings, etc. Hey, one day we'll get that impact resistent flooring }(

I am not sure what I'll be doing today. Was gonna do legs, but my left calf is painful x( I don't think it would interfere with my w/o though. It warms up and is better the more I move. And if I just do squats, DL, etc and skip the calf work I should be ok.

Legs are done. As I suspected calf didn't bother me with the exercises that I did. I didn't do calf raises though. It still feels a bit tweaky. It's sort of deep feeling. Oh well. My legs are like spaghetti now.

Legs:
Squats 80# (yes I said 80 :D) 2x6 and 2x5 (increased from 75#, my goal is to do 4x6 and increase wt again)
Bulgarian Squats 25# DBs 1x5 & 4x4 (same wt less reps than last week x( think the heavier squats did that)
RDL 85# 4x6 (up from 80#-these felt good)
Plie Squats 55# 4x6 (up from 50#)

Great workout!!! Then I did 20 mins on spin cycle and a nice long stretch. I may stretch again later. I plan to do some pullups later too!!

Hey ladies. I didn't sleep well last night because I went to bed mad. Sometimes people do things to hurt others on purpose and somebody did that to a friend of mine behind his back. I don't want to be the bearer of the bad news (or gossip) so I'm not saying anything and I'm hoping nothing happens. Anyway, since I didn't sleep, I've been sleepy all day so I decided to skip my workout and go to bed early. GS Legs is on schedule for tomorrow.

Catherine - Be careful with that calf muscle. I hope it's nothing serious. I also have to say that your strength is amazing.

Affirm - I hope you're enjoying the weekend after all the work you've done in the past few weeks.

Rose, sorry to hear about your troubles. I hope you get some sleep tonight. I hope everything comes out ok with your friend.

The calf is doing ok. The rest of my legs, well you know still feeling a bit like lead LOL!! Rose, I have been working hard to slowly increase my wts and it's paying off!!! Thanks to DH who hoists the bar up for me.

Hey Affirm, how's the puppy doing??
