No sweets, salt, more water, etc. - July 6, 2005

Morning everyone!

Well, I did well on everything yesterday except the sweets, but the cookies are GONE and so are the biscuits so now I have no excuse. I did have pizza last night and felt absolutely gross after.

Drank all my water yesterday, plus some extra.

I did very well on my no sugar challenge....for the first three days.

At my Aunt Kim's house for the 4th, she had a very yummy blueberry and sour-cream cake. I couldn't help it. Some monster took over my body and I just......before I knew it I was licking the blue juice off of my fingers and had a very satisfied grin on my face. I FEEL SO WEAK!!!!

Afterwards, I tried to rationalize that I eat so well anyways, so one piece won't matter. And it is true, it won't matter when you consider how well I do eat. The thing that is a problem is that I can't say no! Well, I start from scratch again today, AND I WILL BE VICTORIOUS!

But other than that, no problems with not eating salt and drinking plenty of water! :)

Shelley, when I eat pizza, I grab a few napkins (it takes that many!!!!!) and blot all of the grease off of the cheese before I eat it so that I don't feel so nasty afterwards! ;-)

Good luck, everyone!!!

Missy

Hey Missy - I wouldn't worry about the cake. Just get back on track today:)

And it wasn't actually the grease from the cheese on the pizza. It was because they mistakenly put BACON instead of BROCCOLI on it (I'm not sure how you can mistake the two) so I picked it all off and blotted it, but the residue was still there. Blech.

I took some of that apple crisp that I made and ice cream for a friend last night (the kids were using her pool), and she pulled out a plate for a piece for me, too! I couldn't say no, since I had brought the stuff, so I had a little, and then a little more and I finished a whole piece of the apple crisp. Plus she made me a drink (sex on the beach, my favorite!).

Well, I had a stomachache the rest of the night :( Serves me right. I will say no next time! Still doing well on the no salt and have more than kept up with my water intake.

Have a super day everyone!

Ok yesterday was a better day as far as no sweets. I jumped back on the band wagon after the long weekend. I really only slipped up a couple times but boy was I beating myself up over it the day I did. I felt so bad mentally and physically. After doing well yesterda I woke up feeling thin again. Weird how that works:) Water is going great. That is the easy part for me. I drank a gallon yesterday plus 32 ounces of green tea that has no caffiene. I drink water constantly through out the day as I hear it takes away some of your appetite as well. Salt, well that is easy except for my fat free chips and wheat thins that I miss. But hey when it's hot no need to be bloated on salt too.

Bacon instead of brocolli-I would have promptly sent that pizza back and had them deliver another! Thats a bad thing to mix up. What if you were a vegetarian? Customes service these days really bugs me.

I did good w/ my water yesterday, and salty junk, my only slip was the 2 oreos I ate. Back on track today. Keep it up girls!:) Kali

I did really well yesterday until dinner time. I was too tired to cook so went out and ate Chinese food (sauce and all). However, I didn't eat the fortune cookie. ;-)

Hi Missy- I don't think there's any weakness in enjoying a special dessert to celebrate the 4th. ;) I bet you say no to many less-than-healthy foods each day, but perhaps you don't realize it anymore. Healthy and clean eating is progression, I think. Look how far you've come- and give yourself credit for focusing on reducing your sweets. You're taking action, THAT'S what counts. :)

I've got a healthy pizza idea for you. I've found these reduced-carb whole wheat roll ups at the grocery store and discovered that they make excellent pizza crusts. The sodium is pretty reasonable, and it's got a good amount of protein.

For the sauce- take a can of no-salt added tomato paste, mix in 1 can's worth of water, 1- 4 T of olive oil, and whatever Italian spices you like.

Use low-fat cheese, lots of veggies and voila you've got a healthy, reduced fat, reduced/low sodium pizza. :)

And it cooks really quickly in 400 degree oven.

No need for napkins to mop up the grease. lol

So far so good on my No Sweets challenge. I feel like I've got alot of momentum going for me this month. By George, I think I just might be able to pull this off. Yippie!

I did allow myself 1 brownie during my parent's 4th BBQ. Mom was looking out for me though- she made them partly with splenda and reduced that fat. I was really touched!

We're all doing so well, yay us!!

Connie :D

So far today it's all going well. But it's only 4:00 and I just got home from work...hopefully the rest of the day will go as well.

Hi Everyone,

Well today was not my day for good eating. It started out great with egg whites and oatmeal and somehow turned into eating chocolate chips out of the bag. Seems I had another package of chocolate chips hiding in the fridge. Well I have made another batch of cookies and the kids will have them gone by morning. Hopefully I won't find anymore chocolate, wish me luck.

No salty snacks, plenty of water - especially when pushmowing the north 40 today....:9 I was sucking down water every 30 minutes but I think it was pouring out of me faster....

No sweets today either.

Hi girls! Well today I had another serving of ice cream **rolls eyes**, I know, but I did well with the sugar, salt and water besides that little incident. I wasn't that bad though (just one serving). I think that every once in awhile I have to cheat, otherwise I'm not going to be as nice as I usually am:p .

By the way, off topic, everytime I do Low Max Cathe kicks my butt (cardio wise), although I'm getting better. I wonder if in a couple of months I'll be doing it like a pro.
