No Sweets Check-In - Tuesday, June 28, 2005

Cathlete
Morning all!

Jes - glad to see you back. I can't believe all you had in Mexico was one bit of wedding cake. You rock!

Tammy - one of my fave songs has a piece in it that goes "This body holding me reminds me of my own mortality, embrace this moment, remember, we are eternal, all this pain is an illusion":) It's helped me through some rough times, but I'm not sure it would help get me up a hill at the end of three miles!

Three more days, chicks!

Well it won't be long now.My week has been good so for, maybe it can last to the end.

So what is the first thing you will eat that you haven't been able to? I will continue my no sweets when I get back from vacation. I have to splurge a litte then!

kim

I'm having oreo cookies for breakfast, cake for lunch and a huge ice cream sundae for dinner!

Just kidding! I'll have a little something but I've liked how I felt this month so much (no headaches) that I won't overdo it. It's still pretty exciting that we only have 3 more days!!

My daughter had a chocolate shake last night and was still complaining this morning of a stomachache! x(

Now THAT'S my kind of a meal plan! :9

Seriously though... I also like that I went through the month headache-free. So I won't be going overboard when July 1 rolls around. In fact, I may not indulge until July 2 when I bake a cake for my MIL. I'm thinking German Chocolate. Mmmmm.... *drools* Just a tiny piece, please! :)

I am going to continue with no sweets, but with a teensy cheat once in a while. I am a MAJOR sweets person. I never would've believed that I could go a week, let alone a month. I am the one who has a small brownie for breakfast, and then a whole row before lunch, and then downhill from there (if that's possible)!

I have had 2 small cheats this month. One I planned for and the other surprised me. I hope that I can maintain this and continue on the positive path that this challenge has put me toward!

Well I just returned from vacation a couple of days ago. I didn't go terribly overboard on vacation either.:) I did however have some ice cream and a brownie. No-not on the same day or at the same time. I savored each one of my treats.

I will continue to minimize my sugar intake as I feel so much better.

Diana

Alright, I just bought a pack of gum from the vending machine - it's been several weeks since I've had any gum. I started chewing a stick of it and it taste soooo overly sweet! Blech!

I like how it says "Helps Keep Teeth White & Breath Fresh" on the package, but two of the main ingredients are sugar and glucose syrup. Yeah, that keeps MY teeth white! Because they all rot out of my head and have to be replaced with shiny new dentures! :7

I'm just chewing this stuff so I can stay awake at my desk this afternoon. ;)

I just got back from a department meeting that included a catered lunch. There were cute little carrot cakes and cheese cakes and I didn't have ANY!! I didn't even eat the potato chips. :)

Angie

Hello everybody! Today has been good so far. I'm so happy July is almost here! But, I'm going to continue the challenge on my own. It is unbelievable the way I feel now and I think that is a sign that I should've been doing this a long time ago.

Emily, congratulations on your weight loss. LOL I do the same thing with candy now. The taste feels so much sweeter now. Yuck!

Hi ladies!

Wow...where is everyone? It used to be that by the time I got on to post, I would have to catch up on 3 pages of posts!

Three more days...I am so proud of all of us! I'm going to continue with this as it has also made me more aware of my daily diet. I find myself making healthier food choices all around.

Angie - great job on surviving the department meeting. Carrot cake is my favorite! That would have taken all my will power.

Shelley - thanks for the quote. I copied it to my desktop. It will come in handy next month!

Tammy

Hanging in there still...

We only have 3 more days so I think I can do it. I too am going to continue watching the sweets.

Terri

I treated myself to frozen yogurt from I Can't Believe It Yogurt this afternoon. Chocolate and vanilla swirl (nonfat and with NutraSweet) with sugar-free fat-free fudge. I was in heaven there for the 30 seconds it took me to eat it!!! Ahhhhh... I live for these moments. Caffeine in the chocolate... well my body will just have to get use to little doses of caffeine because I never said ANYTHING about giving up chocolate!!! :p

Well again I'm afraid to checkin again, due to this frustration I have been messing here and there. I can't believe how good I was doing and a simple stop sign in life just ruined it. I can only hope I can resist temptation tomorrow.

kim

Um, hi. I, uh, had some, er...espresso ice cream mud pie...for breakfast. Then again after dinner. Oh, and I didn't eat lunch today because I had to work through it. Sorry. :-(

LOL!!! I never had ice cream for breakfast...so how was it?

Tammy

Oh boy. I made it through today but I don't know how I did it. My DD wanted Smarties today, and since she had been feeling lousy, I got her a box and she had about 7. The rest of the box is just sitting there on my kitchen counter. Oh wait, do you even have Smarties there? They're a bit like M&Ms only better:)

Kim - hang in there girl. Tomorrow is another day.

Lunacat - ice cream for breakfast sounds perfectly reasonable to me:)

Shelley - I remember Smarties from my childhood but here they are not like M&M, they are small sweet-tart candies wrapped in a roll.

ETA - I hope Sophie is feeling better.
