We're almost halfway there! How is everyone doing?

I'm really missing my cookies and I think I'm replacing them with other things, which isn't good. The scale was not kind to me this morning.

yes we are on the halfway mark. So far I have had my whole grain wheat waffles with a little SF syrup and grapes. I hope the rest of the day goes good since I have a doctor's appt. for my foot. I hope I don't come out of there depressed. And we know what that means. so pray for me it won't be a big deal.

And don't be mad at that scale, it isn't over yet.

Shelley I must confess I cheated last nightx( x(. I had a piece of my daughters dessert. It was about an inch high & 1 1/2 inch long with a little whip cream. Although it was small it was still cheating. Won't beat myself up over it, today's a brand new day and I'm feeling very good about the day.

We have two weeks left and I'm giving it my all to stick with "No Sweets"}(.

I did pretty well this weekend. No baked sweets for me, and very little of any other kind of sweet. DH bought a chocolate-almond bar at the health food store and offered me half of it but I just had one little square and that was that. Don't ask me why they sell chocolate bars at the health food store - that one's still got me scratching my head. It wasn't like it was organic chocolate or something. Although, proceeds from the sale of said chocolate benefit endagered animals. I will eat as much chocolate as necessary to save the orangutans. :p

Ate well all weekend, and have lost 7 lbs since the beginning of the month. Not too shabby. :)

I really want a cookie!!! (Thanks goodness there aren't any around here, or I might be tempted beyond my limits) As my coworker likes to say "I've lost weight, I think I'll reward myself with a cookie!" ;)

Emily - congrats on the weight loss!!

The weekends are the toughest - I was absolutely surrounded by candy and goodies all weekend. My daughter made brownies Saturday night and I didn't have any. Thankfully, her sister and her friends polished them off. They bought candy over the weekend and kept offering me some. x( x( x( NONONONONO!!!!

Is anyone else dreaming about candy??? I woke up Saturday morning feeling incredibly guilty cuz I dreamed I ate some Swedish Fish but then I realized it was all a dream! Kooky.....:p

Angie

Shelley- I am with you. I must be sustituting other stuff and not realizing it. I don't feel any different since I started this challenge really. Weight wise that is. Mentally and physically I know it is benefiting me:)

Emily-Congrats on the weight loss! Glad this challenge is helping you.

I did cheat a little this weekend since it was my birthday. I had a couple strawberried dipped in chocolate and a piece of angel food cake. My work outs were ok but not the amount I usally do. So back to reality today! Good luck to all. Kim let us know what the doctor says.

Terri

Terri - not sure if I'd even count that as cheating as:

1. Strawberries dipped in chocolate counts as a fruit.
2. Angel food cake is mostly air.

:) :) :)

Hope you had a great birthday!!!

Angie

Emily, Congrats on the weight loss!

Shelley, IGNOR THE COOKIES and their evil distant cousins the CHIPS! Just talk back to the voices, tell them to P*ss off! :)

I've been using sugar free stuff to counter the cravings. Sugarless Jelly Bellys are to die for! But eating too many (I'm a quantity girl) gives REALLY bad gas! DH had me sleep on the couch one night! EWWWW! But they taste SO good going down!

Last week I just found out that my favorite yogurt (from McDonalds) has sugar as the SECOND ingredient! Which wouldn't be so bad if I ate only 1 at a time, but I'll go bonkers and have several as a meal (quantity remember). I didn't count that as cheating because as I had always eaten them through-out my 30 lb weight loss, but now that I see how much sugar they have. No wonder I wasn't having that much trouble with this challenge! I feel as though the first half of June I was Cheating big time. I'm sorry, please don't kick me out! I'm giving them up for the rest of June, I promise!

Can I stay? Please...;(

I am doing great! I have literally been surrounded by sweets the past week! We had a wedding reception picnic on Saturday and you should have seen the desserts! Whoa!!! Then, we met our daughter last nite at a buffet. I thought No BIGGY as I love salad bar, but then, Dave had the nerve to come walking back with the biggest, gooiest brownie with deep dark chocolate icing and ice cream too!!! I kept staring at it thinking "Oh one cheat won't hurt." I went back and got some green beans instead. :p When I got back to the table he said glad you didn't cave. I am MISERABLE! Teach him right!! Ha! I did cheat last week one day without thinking though. :-( It doesn't count if you don't realize, right?? We had stopped into eat at a Steak house and I buttered my yeast roll (Yuuuum) with the butter they supplied which was honey butter with cinnamon. Oh my gosh, was it good and then all of a sudden I said, that's a nasty sweet!!! Oh but it wasn't nasty. It was sooo good! :7 Good Luck everyone-almost 1/2 way there!

Isn't it amazing how when faced with temptation, all you have to think is "I'll have to report that on the Check-In" and suddenly it's not so appealing anymore?:)

LOL! You have no idea how many times I've thought about all of you and how much you've kept me accountable over the past 300 hours and 8 minutes!! :p

Angie

But who's counting, right Angie! That is too funny! How many hours do we have to go????

LOL Angie! I had a couple of #1s last night. Today I had a little bit of cake and another one of those strawberries, but they're almost gone so that's good. Let's see how I do in the afternoon and evening. Hopefully I'll do okay.

Ok confession time, the kids and I were playing outside this morning and boy was it hot. So, right after lunch I let them have a treat. An ice cream sandwich. My youngest wanted it too, but then he took one bite and said he DIDN"T LIKE IT! First of all, can you believe that? What 2 year old doesn't like ice cream. I know I'm digressing. Well, I finished it off. I can't say it didn't taste good. It was chocolate covered mint ice cream with a mint cookie on the bottom. At least, it was something good. Oh, and I was doing so well.

I'm back on track, hopefully, right now!

Emily ~ way to go on losing weight! Yeah!

Angie ~ that is a funny dream. I like those little swedish fish too!

Shelley ~ You're right, checking in does keep me accountable. I think of all the lovely desserts I have passed up in honor of this challenge.

I was so excited when someone suggested a walk outside after lunch. Little did I know that my co-workers' definition of a "walk" is walking to the next building to get an ice-cream cone. **sigh** I ate an apple instead.

Only half way?? TTOTM is making me crave cookies... home baked, gooey, moist, warm, chocolate chip cookies! :9 mmmmm... But i haven't had any sugar! I even resisted one of those giant cookies from Mrs. Fields this weekend. however.....x( i did have a bagel shop bagel this morning (yucky white flour!). I must get myself to the grocery store!!! haha

This is supposed to be getting EASIER, right? haha

No sweets today. I had this great idea for a snack.... 1 cup soy milk, frozen banana... my usual smoothie but I added a tablespoon of PB.... who needs sweets when you have this....

Congrats on all who have lost weight. I maintained this week which is good because I am at the low side of my weight. I lost another 1/2 inch in my waist from last Monday but my butt won't budge. I cannot get that other 1/2 inch off my rear. I am okay with my size (size 8) but I am almost obsessive about getting that 1/2 inch off my hips because I have been down to that measurement before and I want to be back there.

I'm doing great! Staying in the house all by myself in a house with no sweets really works for me. :p

How about substituting some kind of healthy low sugar "bars"? Kashi makes a good one...so does Quaker.

Connie :D
