I got mine from my podiatrist - total rip off! When I got the bill from the insurance compancy, I saw it cost $250! I only wore it a few nights - it hurt and I ended up kicking it off in my sleep, so I found it pretty useless. I know you can find them online. There are other things you can sleep in too - I think there is a sock that help keeps your foot at that angle they prefer you sleep in.

Good luck although I never found of the "sleep aids" particularly helpful for my PF.

I saw a bootie/split for PF at Target when I was looking for a knee brace for my husband, I think it is around $30. I have PF and I slept with a light shoe on, it took a night or two to get use to it, the hardest thing was turning because the shoe would get caught on the quilt but it did work for me. Hope this helps you.

Hey Laura,

I went to the podiatrist and he gave me a boot to wear. I had a similar experience to the above poster in that I inevitably kicked it off during the night (or it kept me awake until I took it off) but I did try to wear it during the day if I was sitting for a prolonged period.

The thing that worked the best for me is the Superfeet green inserts (you can find them at running stores) and to stretch my calves 8 times a day for 3 sets of 10 counts on each side each time. The stretch is the one where you lean your hands against the wall and have one leg straight and back and the other bent and forward. He told me that was the only calf stretch I should do (I don't know if that was my particular case or if that's everyone . . . I have very, very tight calf muscles and I walk on my toes a lot)

At his recommendation I have also started seeing a sports massage therapist. At first I saw her once a week for a few weeks. Now I just go every 6 weeks. I haven't had any pains since I've been seeing her regularly

My podiatrist is an avid runner and he always seems to know exactly what to do to fix my issue. I really recommend seeing a doctor who "gets it"
