Nico Joseph has arrived!

Hello everyone,

Just a quick note to say that Nico arrived on 11/18 at 11:07 p.m. He is beautiful! It was a natural birth that began with my water breaking at 6 a.m. - followed by contractions every 45 seconds until he was delivered (oy!!). I was 39 weeks and 1 day, and he was 6 lbs. 13 oz.

This week has been a blur since my milk is slow coming in - I have been finding donor milk and finally discovered a milk bank, so now things are less stressful. I have to pump every hour for 20 minutes, etc. etc. But he's here and he's perfect :)

Good luck to everyone - Steph and Manmohini, hang in there.

Congratulations, Arancini! I bet he is absolutely lovely.

Nov. 18 was my due date ..... but I'm still waiting 11 days later. It's beautiful that you got to experience the natural childbirth you wanted. The birth sounded like it went perfectly. That is my hope as well. Say a prayer for me--I hit 41 weeks today. I can't believe that each day passes and nothing happens. There was a change in my discharge this morning, however. It went from milky to mucousy. No plug yet, but maybe soon.

I'm sure Steph must have had her baby by now as well. She was one week further along than I. Also, she said she was going in for an induction this past Saturday, and we haven't heard from her, so I take it that means she's busy with the new baby!

Congratulations again, and enjoy that young life!

I look forward to seeing you all in the postpartum side of things! It looks like there will be quite a few of us newbies there soon (cruncholi, melissa, manmohini, and cyclingirl ... anyone else?)

Can't believe I did not say CONGRATS!!! Well, CONGRATS!! Hope life isn't too insane for you right now!;)

Where did you find a milk bank? I always had so much milk and was interested in donating,...

There are 7 milk banks in the US (I don't know offhand where the others are) - mine is in Raleigh, NC.
