Yep, YEAH!!! My husband just read that on one of his "sports boards" and I agree, I hope this is just the first step. I hope he is starting to see the hole he has dug for himself. . .and really grasp it - but most likely he isn't and he's still sitting around thinking that his fame and fortune will prevail.
I'm a HUGE advocate of animals and animal rights and I can not even begin to describe what I would like to have happen to this man. Let me rephrase - I could put it into words, but I am certain that those words would get me permanently banned from this board. :9
I hope anyone reading this has taken the encouragement from other posters and has started to also pressure Nike - while they have halted the launch of Vick's shoe - they have not yet terminated his contract. And before I get flamed, I do believe in due process - however - as one other poster so perfectly put it - if you were caught holding a gas can and a match at the scene of the arson, there wouldn't be much of a question of innocence or guilt. The evidence against him is so, so tremendous, and the eye witness accounts of what has been going on . . .unbelievable.
Okay - sorry, didn't mean to go off in a rant, but please keep emailing the NFL and Nike!!!
One more thought:
There is an Native American legend which says, when a human dies there is a bridge they must cross to enter into heaven. At the head of that bridge awaits every animal that human encountered during their lifetime. The animals, based upon what they know of this person, decide which humans may cross the bridge. . .and which are turned away.
The only thing that lets me sleep at night is dreaming of all of these poor souls having their day and having the opportunity to "turn him away."
