Newbie Seeking DVD Selection Advice

Hello,

I am new to the forum and am completely overwhelmed by DVD options. I am looking for strength training and from what I have read so far, it seems like most of you do various rotations. I would greatly appreciate any advice about what DVDs to use for my first rotation. Right now my primary forms of exercise are running and Pilates. I am looking to add weight training to get more definition in my arms and legs. I watched samples of the DVDs and I believe I have narrowed it down to Pure Strength, the Gym Style series, and Pyramids. If you had to choose one of these, what would it be? Do all require use of an aerobic step? Thank you SO MUCH!

I'm still fairly new to Cathe. I have had Butts & Guts and all her High Step DVDs for about a year. I started getting some of her other DVDs about 3 months ago. For strength I chose the Gym Style series. I love it! I started seeing tone in my arms, chest and back in less then 2 weeks. Before that I was doing Chalene Extreme. I was loosing weight but not toning up.

I love gym style and the pyramids! I currently do upper body pyramid and lower body pyramid each once a week (they still fry my muscles everytime) and i vary the gymstyle dvds so that they are mixed in throughout each month. You really can't go wrong with either choice.

I like Gym Styles better than Pure Strength as that series is more versatile and offers shorter premixex when you're short on time. Both series use the step for a weight bench and for some leg press/"step ups" leg work.

Intensity Series Rocks!

I love the Pyramids DVD and turn to it fairly often. If you are also looking for an introduction to other Cathe workouts, the Boot Camp & Muscle Endurance is one to look at.

The other DVD from this series is also wonderful. Not sure if it's cheaper to buy the entire series vs. one DVD. I originally only bought Cardio & Weights and Boot Camp on VHS. I love this series so much that I eventually bought them all on DVD.
