New Year's Resolutions

I usually don't make them, but today I came up with a biggy - I will start making better use of my time. I spend WAY too much time parked in front of the TV accomplishing nothing, and know I can get stuff done and still have the TV on. We will gradually work into turning the TV off, but for now I resolve to multi-task more and not be wasting time. I tried to fool myself for years telling myself I was actually learning things while I watched TV since I always watch news channels, History Channel, Food Network, etc., so it was productive time. Time for the BS to end! I just stopped cleaning my kitchen to write this and will continue as soon as I sign off with cleaning the kitchen floor.
Just Do It! :)

Yesterday, on the treadmill, it suddenly occurred to me that for the first time ever, I actually have some goals that are starting with the beginning of the year. This is because starting tomorrow I have to bill more hours at work than I ever have before, and I need to turn myself into a lean, mean, billing machine. In order to accomplish my career goals this year, I need to be in good shape. So my goals are:

1. To gain 3-5 lbs. of muscle and lose 3-5 lbs. of fat.

2. To have a tummy that doesn't jiggle when I laugh (see no. 1 above).

3. To develop enough leg strength to be able to have a cardiovascular experience on an e-trainer. Even if it's only for 5 minutes.

4. I'd really like to try some hiking this year. It sounds fun.

5. To continue to develop more confidence in myself.

6. To check out the pilates studio in my gym and maybe try it out if its financially feasible. There is a limit to how much I'm willing to spend though.

7. To finally renovate the darn kitchen.
