New Years Challenge Dec 27-31

Hi Ladies,
I thought I would make this one shorter and then we can start a new thread in the new year.Sound Good? Any goals,any suggestions?
I still haven't decided if I will start BFL.Maybe I will do the eating and not the workout plan.I would like to come up with some sort of rotation in the new year though.I have this week to work on it.I would like to get in more weight training.I am normally not this slack with my training but I am a cardio girl and as long as I get my run in,I am o.k.
I tried my new step out yesterday and it is so long.Its crazy.I don't think I went from corner to corner.I was somewhere in the middle.
We went out last night so I am not feeling 100% but I thought I was going to be worse.I had a lunch before I went to bed and some water,then I slept till 12.
Anyway,I am going to be crazy enough today to head to the mall and see if I can find some clothes in the boxing day sale.Not alot though.Just a couple pairs of dress pants.I am also not sure if I will get a catch to workout b/c we are having company over for dinner.

Hi Lori and others, I am impressed with everyone's determination and discipline. I feel so fat. I know you are not supposed to say that word, but it's how I feel. I have gained 2 or 3 pounds. I am really not feeling well. I think I might have an ear infection on top of my sinus infection and sore throat. I haven't had an ear infection since I was 3 years old! Anyway, I can't wait to start feeling better so I can move. I just can't picture doing Cathe or running when my head and ear is hurting, and I can't breathe out of my nose if you held a gun to my head.

Lori, did you get some new pants? Tell us about your mall expedition. I bet you look really good in clothes because you are so fit.

Oh Lori, It sounds like you are having a bad day!:-( Its one thing to feel like you are overflowing out of your clothes but its another to feel physically sick.
Well, in another few days it will all be back to normal.You can start a new eating regimen and a new rotation or something.Just remember that this is for the time being and you can work on getting yourself back to normal.
I went to the mall with DH, which was my first mistake.I got to one clothing store while he was returning something.I didn't get any pants but I bought 2 sweaters.Which is something else that I needed.Then we went to Wal-Mart to return something else.By that time DH couldn't take it anymore and he wanted to get home.So I didn't get to the other store.I wouldn't of gotten any pants at this store b/c the smallest pair of pants they make are to big for me.I think their clothing sizes are bigger then most.They use to make size 3 but they don't anymore.So the 5's there are to big for me.
We also had company for dinner and I didn't get a chance to workout:-( AND I also got called into work tomorrow morning! I don't even know why I answered the phone.It just eats me if I don't know what they wanted.
Anyway,I hope you are feeling better soon Lori.I will check back tomorrow

Thanks for the well wishes Lori. I am starting my clean eating today. I have been eating Christmas junk. I have a cup of green tea in the microwave and I think I will have some egg whites and a small bowl of regular oatmeal. I may try to walk outside today for a little while. I can't wait until this sickness is over and I really hope my kids don't get it!

Lori-your dh sounds like mine. He can't stand shopping, but always wants to go with me. As soon as we get to the store he starts telling me he wants to go! I could wring his neck.:)

Hi Ladies!!!!!!!! How is everyone?? I am good. Still in NC. I am about ready to hit my workout.

Lori- Are you going back on WW's??? Or, are you just going to concentrate on trying to eat well?? I am really thinking on trying to eat clean. I spend 90% of my time on a diet, and never lose any weight. Maybe I quit putting so much focus on food, I would do better.

It seems we are the only 3 left w/ this check in!!!! And can you believe we are all Lori's???

I wish there would be a Hard Core update!!! I am excited for them!!!

Hi Lori's,
Everyone must be laying low today. I got called in to work today which I wasn't fussy about but once I got into the swing of things I was o.k. Its hard getting back into it.
I didn't workout yesterday so my plan is to do a long run in a little while.I may go get a coffee first:) My parents are here but I don't have to keep them occuiped.I should also get my workout in tomorrow,no problem.
Anyway,I will check back later after I workout.

Lorisax, yes I am still a member of WW online. Today was my first day in a while that I stayed on program. I ran for 25 minutes and power walked for 30 minutes this evening. It felt so good to be out there, even if I do have a cold. I will stay on WW until I meet lifetime. This is my goal. I need to get serious and just do it.

Hi ladies!

I've been at home in N.C. where they have dial-up; too frustrating to check in multiple times daily! Hope everyone's holiday is going well, although it sounds like many of you have had the same experience I have, which is less weight loss than hoped for at this point and a little frustration. I'm thinking of switching to Core. Thus far, structure has not seemed that helpful and also not like a great long-term eating plan. Counting points ends up making me feel desperate and often disappointed if the numbers aren't just right. Plus, no one I know who naturally keeps their weight in check counts calories, points, fat grams, etc.

I haven't weighed myself in a couple of weeks, but have done several Cathe's over the past few days and although I'm eating complete crap, do not feel I am eating excessively. My weight feels up a little and more mushy. Hoping to get back on track starting Sunday.

Will check in Sunday night - have a great rest of the week and look forward to Hardcore!!!

Lori-Glad to hear you worked out yesterday.I always feel better after I workout.There is nothing worse then a slump.
FFD-Glad to see your back! I was wondering what happened to you.When I go to my parents hosue they have dial-up as well and it takes forever to get the computer started.Then when you do, someone needs to use the phone.When I am out there I will get to the computer atleast once but no more then that.I can't beleive people still have dial-up.
I got my run in last night and I felt alot better.I ran for 5 miles and I did abs.I slept in today though.It is 10 and I have to work at 1.I am hoping to start my workout in 30 min.I could push it off until tonight but I think we may do some visiting tonight.
My parents are in so I will see what time they leave before I workout.My mom can't keep still and she keeps going from room to room wondering who owns this,who owns that,what do you want me to do with this.....just leave it alone.Its there for a reason.I guess she is only trying to help but sometimes I wish she would relax.

Hi Again,
I got my workout in today but I sort of wished it was a bit longer.I did 1/2 of Imax extreme,CTX bic and shou. It was a good workout though.
The scale is staying the same for me.I was 125 lbs today.I can still feel a difference in my clothes.
I have to go back to work now and I think we are going to do some visiting tonight.I will check in tomorrow.

Hi Gals.....I have been eating really clean all day, and I eat what they make for dinner. Today it was RIBS, w/ boiled potatoes and BUTTER, and corn bread. At least my days are really good, it is just my dinners that stink. But, I am doing the best I can under the circumstances.

When I get back on Sunday, I do not know if I ma going to count Points, do Core, or just try to concentrate on eating clean. I hate counting, measuring, but I did not do that hot on Core either. I think I was making my portions too big. Maybe if I cut them down a bit, I can succeed at it, because I loved the FREEDOM of it.

Hi Gals,
I am at work now and I am so lazy! I think I could have a nap! I may do that on my lunch break.
We did a little visiting last night and I did good.I had one drink and not much food.I had to taste this carrotcake that was sitting on a friends table with creamcheese icing.It was to die for.
I don't know if I will get my workout in today.Unless I get a burst of energy tonight then it won't be possible.I wish DH made just alittle bit more money so that I could have one part-time job.Prehaps we could get rid of some of our bills and then it would be more possible.
I am on my way home for my lunch.I will check back later today.

Hi everyone!

Lorihart, I'm with you on carrot cake - or any cake for that matter. Anything that has icing, cool whip, or filling just calls my name.

Did Imax this morning at home - have done well with continuing to workout over my long vacation, but my workouts are really lacking in energy here! I can really tell I've been eating crap, not drinking enough water, and not sleeping enough. Someone told me yesterday that I looked like I'd lost weight since last time she saw me - I haven't, I realize, but maybe my workouts are changing by body composition!

LoriSax, I'd love to know more about your experience on core. I'm thinking of a new approach in the New Year than flex. Since I didn't lose too much on it, maybe flex wasn't the 'structured' approach I was looking for...
 
Core is very clean eating. You get a list foods, and you eat from that. I LOVED it, except that I struggled really bad dropping weight, but I think the answer to that problem is to weigh myself at home, and no where else. The meetings arer way more Flex oriented, and I work at night, so I am going to do it at home. You still get 35 Flex Points a week, to use as you wish. Anytime you eat off of the list, you count the points. You just have to check the list carefully because certain name brands are Core, and certain things are not. I am about 100% sure I am going to give this a try. I don't know, I do know by April 7th I would like to be 13 lbs. lighter.

I wirked out for an hour and a 1/2 today. I did 3 of my Power Half Hour workouts.

Just finished a workout.I am glad I got it in.I finished up work early tonight so I was able to workout.I just did a run tonight.It was a 6 mile run.I think my speed as picked up a bit.I use to be comfy at 5.7 miles a hour.Now I have picked it up to about 6 miles a hour.
Now I have to get in the shower b/c DH wants to do something.x(
I wish he was more low key sometimes!

Hi everybody, only had a light walk outside with my kids today. The weather is beautiful here in the mid-70's. I ran again yesterday, but have yet to do Cathe for a while. I lost 2 pounds today at weigh in.

Congrats on the weightloss.That must make you feel better? I have been weighing myself off and on.Its probably to much BUT I don't want my weight to creep back up there.I want to keep it where it is.I saw a model on Oprah one time and she said that she weighs herself every morning.And if the scale is up one pound,then she watches what she eats that day.I thought is wasn't a good idea at the time but I can see where she is comming from.Especially with all the eating and drinking I have been doing.
I am not sure if I will get a workout in today.I get off of work at 3 and then I am back at 7:30.I have to eat at my in-maws in between there as well.So I am thinking that I will be able to fit something in this afternoon.
I need coooooffffffeeeeeeeeee!!!!!! Must go get some!:)

Hi Lori. I weigh myself daily. Sometimes I don't if I know there are extra pounds there. Which is completely crazy I know. I am liking what the scale is saying. It looks like I lost another pound, but it is probably water weight. I have been drinking more water lately. I was doing so poorly with my water intake over the Christmas holiday. I walked around the block a couple times with my kids this morning. I am off to do Cathe right now, since my ds just went down for a nap.

Good,then I am not the only one!:) They say to go by how your clothes feel but by the time that happens I would have 5 lbs to lose.I don't think we will feel 2-3 lbs gained.
I just finished my run.I had planned to do more but a friend of mine stopped over and she was here for an hour.Now I have to get ready to go to work again.Atleast I will be off before the new year rings in.I then have to come home to get changed and freshed up.I am thinking about having a coffee later so that I can stay up after mid-night.

Hi Ladies......Happy New Year!!! I did Tear It Up today. we get up at 4 a.m. tomorrow to head home. I will be sad to leave, but glad to be home. Sunday I will start on WW's Core. I have 13 lbs. to lose by April 7th. Talk to you on Sunday.
