New to Cathe

I am an intermediate/advanced exerciser who has had both knees operated on and has to be
mindful of them when exercising. I really enjoy step workouts and weight workouts. As someone
new to Cathe videos, what are some recommendations from the 'veterans' out there on where to
start. I have assorted dumb bells, workout dowel, and a medicine ball but no barbell. Can tapes
that require a barbell be modified so I can use dumb bells?

Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions.:D

First off, welcome to Cathe! Secondly, you may want to also post this question in the"video discussion" forum so more of us can see it! ;-)
As far as using the dumbbells, they are all I use and I haven't had a problem! I have been thinking of getting a barbell only for Cathe's leg work. My shoulders can get tired holding the weight at my sides.
If you're looking for step tapes to start with I'd look to her older ones. A lot of people recommend Cathe's "Wedding" video as a good starter since it has both step and weight training combined. Also Step Heat and Step Jam are 2 fun and easy ones to catch on. Cardio Kicks is a great kickbox tape. I love it and always recommend it! Power Hour and Max.Intens. Strength are good weight training vids too. Actually you can't go wrong with any of her weight tapes. Listen to your body and do what works for YOU.
Some people like to recommend her CTX series which has both cardio and strength. You do a different body part each day and a different form of cardio. A lot of people have had great results with this series.
Hope all of this helps a little bit! Good luck making your choices! Susan
