Im new to videos in general but have been working out in the gym for about 10 years now. Im really interested in supplementing my workout, specifically the weight lifting portion. I like my current cardio routine as is.

I would like some suggestions on a good weight lifting rotation. I do about 3/4 days of cardio and do 2 days of lifting but would like to go to 3 days of lifting.

Im not a novice so don't be shy to bring it on :)

Hi! It would help us to know what Cathe videos you own, if any. Also how many days you have each week to workout, how much time per day, what home fitness equipment you have, ie. a step, barbell, dumbells and what your prior cardio experience is. Once we have this info, we'll definitely "bring it on!"

Welcome aboard,

Stacy

Thanks Stacy.
Actually because Im new to Cathe I don't own any of her videos but am just about to purchase her CTX upper and lower, lean legs and either her PS or SH series. Im also thinking of buying some of the Firm videos, again the ones that are dedicated to strength training only. Not sure which, I have a laundry list.
I can devote 3-4 days a week to weights right now.

Oh, and I own zero equipment as I have been working out in a gym for years. So it looks as though I will need barbells, a step?, and whatever else you suggest. the reason Im looking to change my regimen is that I work FT and have a 3 year old and am about to change my career.

Thanks for your help :)

A full size step can be pricey, but well worth the money. You'd also need a few sets of dumbells for instance 5, 8, 10 for starters depending on your level. I use 5-20lb dumbells for Cathe's strength tapes. A barbell at first isnt essential b/c Cathe's tapes can be modified with dumbells. A step isnt absolutely essential either if you're only going to be using it for a weight bench. The floor or even a coffee table would work. If you're planning on purchasing any cardio workouts from Cathe, Cardio Kicks doesnt use a step. Starter Cathe step videos would be Step Max, Mega Step Blast, Step Heat and her wedding video. Her CTX upper body split is awesome as well as Leaner Legs. Though some people love the FIRM I personally think they are leagues below Cathe in style and effectiveness, but that's just my personal opinion. It seesm that the FIRM doesnt really devote alot of time to one muscle group in particular as far as strength training goes. The closest the FIRM comes in my opinion is Super Sculpting which is ok. I'll probably tick alot of FIRM believers off, but I love Cathe!! Let us know if you have any more questions and dont forget you can preview clips of Cathe's videos on her home page. Also if you havent checked out videofitness.com that site contains loads of reviews on every video imaginable.
