New here

Hi - I am new here, just signed up after ordering my first Cathe workouts. I've been firming for over a year, but for the past couple of months, my body is not responding to the Firm workouts. So I thought I'd change it up a bit. I've heard many good things about Cathe and ordered Body Blast Volume 1, Intensity Series Volume 1 and Ab Hits today. Am really looking forward to getting these workouts.

Is the barbell really necessary for some of these workouts? I really don't want to go out and spend the money on a barbell, would I be able to use dumbbells or the sculpting stick instead. I know the results might not be the same, but I just want to know if it's a good substitute.

Thanks!:)

Hi and welcome!

You will love Cathe's workouts - they are the best!

I use dumbells and body bars for all of her workouts and they work fine. You really don't have to buy a barbell to get great results!

Welcome Dorothy! You are going to love Cathe & these boards!

I agree with the others- barbell not totally necessary, but a plus. Good investment if you have some extra money sometime.

Hi Dorothy. I agree with the others, dumbbells and bars will work, but when & if you can, a barbell is great! I just wanted to say Welcome. You've come to a great place and are in for a real treat. Let us know if you have any more questions.

I would say that you can get by without a barbell using equivalent substitutions for your upper body, but lower body might be more difficult. I find that a barbell is best for squats and lunges. However, Cathe's latest lower body workout (Legs & Glutes) does not use a barbell, so you will be fine for that workout. Definitely consider one in the future.

I have the Troy Lite barbell set and love it - but it is not cheap. There is a thread around here somewhere about another barbell that is similar that people have purchased for around $30 including shipping, which sounds like a real deal to me!

Welcome :) You don't have to have a barbell. You can sub dumbells anywhere there is a barbell and sometimes the dumbbells even work better IMO. :)

Candi!

I don't THINK they are available anymore. I keep getting a response that ONE item I ordered is not available. Let me know what you find out.. Thanks!
