New Cathe Fan who injured herself :(

Hi, Cathe and all of her loyal fans!

I am an advanced exerciser who runs 5-6 miles, 5 times per week and also does The Firm step aerobics and weight training. Cathe's workouts seemed to be the next step to increase my workout level. Plus, they look like so much fun!

I bought 5 DVD's from the Hardcore series. This past week is the first time I worked with them. On Saturday I did Imax 3 and on Sunday Muscle Max. I thought I would just run on Monday. Halfway thru my run I got major pain in my right inner groin area. I finished my run and have been exerperiencing minor to bad pain ever since. I was able to do the Muscle Max video on Tuesday but I can't run as it hurts too bad when I push off with my right leg. I think I might have injured a muscle doing one of the plyo moves or jumping moves in the Imax workout. Yes, I'm an advanced exerciser but I've never done these moves before.

Just curious if anyone else injured themselves while doing any of the workouts and how long it might take to feel better. A setback is so frustraing as I really want to exercise and I was having so much fun with my new workouts!

Any advice anyone can offer is much appreciated.

Not Cathe and not a medical expert, but my advice would be to rest completely until the pain has gone. If you continue to work out, I believe you will just be delaying your recovery, and possibly aggravate the injury further. I know this is probably not want you want to hear, and I have been in the same situation as you and know how frustrating it can be when you can't work out ;-)
Give yourself a week off and see how things feel then. If they are no better, you may want to see you GP for more advice.
