Never Under-estimate CTX

Does anybody else feel the same as me? I had become so hooked on the Intensity Series (and some newer dvds) that I my CTX videos were sitting there looking at me:eek: Last night I decided to get out the ole' Step and Intervals/shoulders, I forgot just how good and effective these workouts are!}( If I can stay away from Cardio & Weights, Boot Camp, Imax etc for just a couple of days my plans are to work through this series more!

Just had to XPress:7 my thoughts on my workout last night.

You are so right Tina, CTX is a 6 part gem! They are (to use Charlene Prickett's saying) 'quick and dirty' workouts, get in and get out. I love that you can mish mosh so easily with these and even after all these years they are still fresh. Unfortunately I loaned mine out a while ago and am really missing them,:( I need to light a fire under the loanee and get those back soon!

Take Care
Laurie:)

I have been doing CTX a bit more too, at least the weight and abs section. The triceps work gets my tris sore everytime!!!

Love CTX and used it for a comeback and got back in shape very quickly. I think for some reason the shorter intense cardio is the best at fat burner. No idea what but my personal observation.

Enjoy!

I actually just reacquired CTX. (I'd Ebayed my original one years ago, before I figured out I can modify if I need to. Maybe the mass quantities of power 15's , 7's and 3's annoyed me, as well!)

So far, I've done the circuit/back and step interval/chest workouts.
I like the weight work especially. It gets a lot done in a short time, and feels very time-efficient and effective. I also like the feeling of lifting heavier than Cathe on most exercises (especially back)!

I'm not so thrilled about 4 of the 6 workouts having high impact step in, and several of them in a row, if you follow the logical progression for the body parts...that's not enough variety for me to avoid the risk of overuse injuries and knee problems...so I'm trying to change some of the step: I did Intervals as a low-medium impact workout, and used a lower step.

Laurie: you are much more generous than I would be! I only 'loan out' workouts that I really don't care that much about. I couldn't deal with not having one of my favorites around...because I'm sure I'd have a hankering to do it before I got it back!

> The triceps work gets my tris sore everytime!!!

I haven't gotten to that workout yet, but sore triceps sound good!
I had ongoing 'shakes' in my chest after yesterday's workout. Besides having to do the push-ups on my knees :-( (those staggered p-us are a killer, especially after the chest is already blasted from the barbell and dumbbell work!), I actually hit failure on the last set and couldn't do anymore. But in resistance training, 'failure is sucess,' right?

I'm actually lucky the DVD's play (for now), because they were both loose in the case on arrival, and 1 was/is pretty scratched up. Luckily, I'll be getting replacements soon, so I don't have to worry about a glitch showing up (though I am going to go to Walmart and get another case: the case that they came in has the most useless 'spindles' for holding the DVD's. I'm surprised they even stay in place when I put them in!).

I agree with your personal observation.:D

I really slimmed down after I did this series for a month straight.

CTX is my most used series! I love, love, love it! I was in a rut so I used CTX this week to get my enthusiasm back. I paired it with the GS series this week. For example, today I did CTX Kickbox it its entirety and added on GS biceps. My arms have been fried all week!
