Dear Cathe,

I have been working out with cardio and light weights. Which program do you suggest I try to kick up my routine and break my plateau. Help! I do still have plenty of fat to burn and muscle to gain. Not sure which program is best for me. Thanks.

Susan

I am by no means an expert, or Cathe, but I have read alot of people have had great success using the CTX series. Maybe that would be worth a try??

Hi Susan,

In case Cathe doesn't get a chance to answer I thought I would try to help out.

What kind of cardio are you doing? How often are you doing cardio? You might want to try to add 1 or 2 days of interval style cardio to your routine. For example, you could add interval max or Gin's intense moves or something similar. If these are too intense for you just lower the step and go at your own pace. You also may want to consider trying to gradually go a little heavier with the weights. You may want to try the Pure Strength series to get started with increasing your strength.

Good luck to you!

Hi, Susan! I agree with the previous poster that it's probably time for you to bring in interval workouts, and Cathe's Interval Max is the best! Intense Moves by Reebok / Gin Miller is good as well, and the Cross-Train Express series ("CTX") has a Step & Intervals workout as well.

I also agree that it's time for you to start upping your weightloads and intensifying your weightlifting program. Pure Strength Series OR the Slow and Heavy Series, in addition to CTX and I-Max, would be a good bunch o' workouts to invest in.

Hope this helps -
