Need to purchase a non-stick pan

I need to replace a non-stick pan. It's been quite a while since I researched these. I think I need to look for PFOA free. Anything else I should be looking out for?

TIA!
Sue

I've been using this one for 18 months and like it. Got the recommendation from America's Test Kitchen. No PFOA's. But I would not use metal utensils even though the manufacturer says you can. Wash with soft sponge not scrubbers (nothing ever sticks to this pan anyway) $25 on Amazon.

I have Swiss Diamond & very happy with it. Only one I have rest of my fry pans are good old fashioned cast iron.

From a highly reliable source (copied and pasted from a Facebook post by Deanna Minich, Ph.D.):

COOKWARE
Just a tidbit about quality cookware, since I don't think we addressed it. Here's my take:
Yes to Le Creuset
Yes to Staub
Yes to stainless steel unless you have a known sensitivity to nickel
Yes to cast iron unless you have hemochromatosis or a health condition that doesn't warrant additional iron intake
NO to Scanpan - I mentioned them before as thumbs up and they have a good "non-toxic" rating; however, within 2 years of getting my very expensive set, my main frying pan peeled and flaked, making it unusable now that it is exposed. I've contacted the retailer for a refund as they have a warranty, but haven't heard yet.
That's my TRUTH!
Hope that helps!
Deanna

How about those nice looking ones on informercials that are ceramic with titanium? There's one where the guy is whisking eggs in his & I am thinking Whaaaat?
I stalk craigslist much of the time for Paderno & cast iron. I don't like cast iron at all for some things though, like eggs for example.

I've never seen that infomercial Elsie, but according to this post, ceramic and titanium are viable options for cookware. Are you saying that cooking eggs in this type of cookware would not provide a good result based on your knowledge? I agree with you about using cast iron to cook eggs. I have only one cast iron pan -- a Le Creuset grill pan -- and it works beautifully. I have not had any luck cooking eggs with my SS cookware, so I typically make a frittata -- baked in the oven in a glass pan lined with parchment. ;)

Thanks! :) What I was getting at is that I thought you would entirely ruin a good pan by whisking in it. lol. I really like your idea of using the parchment ....didn't think of that for eggs before. Excellent!! :) I almost always do poached, but sometimes am just in the mood for a classic soft scramble.
