Need movie suggestion

My dd is in a play at school where she has been cast as a "southern belle." She's really having trouble getting the accent down and more often sounds British rather than Southern Bellish. I thought watching a movie with a southern belle in it might help but I can't seem to think of any. Can you?

Gone With the Wind. Hello? It's only one of the most famous "Southern Belle" movies ever made!:7 It's pretty hokey, but at least she can get the accent.

Another good one is A Streetcar Named Desire. Blanche has a southern belle accent.

Streetcar Named Desire.... I can't remember who played Blanche, but her accent is very pronounced.

The only thing I can think of is reruns of Designing Women. I loved that show.

Definitely Steel Magnolias. I used this one for research a few years ago, and these women had it down the best, as well as the most authentic. Olympia Dukakis was the best inspiration for me, but someone else might gravitate to a different vocal type.

Clint Eastwood was pretty hot, too, in the day. Ever seen "Two Mules for Sister Sarah?" Both he and Shirley McClain were extremely attractive when they were but babes...

How old is your daughter? I would vote for either Steel Magnolias or Fried Green Tomatoes. Tomatoes has some deep southern accents!

Thanks for all the suggestions. I had thought of "Gone With the Wind" but I'm not sure where to dig that one up. Thanks for the other suggestions. We'll have to have a 'Southern Belle' weekend. I pick up accents easy, all I have to do is talk to 1-800 number from Texas and I'm drawling right with her. For those who asked - my dd is 14 and she doesn't seem to pick them up as easy. My son also picks them up easy and does great Dr. Phil impressions.

Ha!!! You don't know our local library!!! "Gone With the Wind" would probably rate as a New Release! I drive over an hour to get to a library that I love...and that I can renew and request over the internet. The local one is really sad...really sad.
