Need Help!....frustrated!

Cathlete
I've recently lost 30 pds,25 inches over the period of the last year with step aerobics, diet and a little weight lifting. I haven't lost anymore weight since august(2006) so I bought cathe friedrich's basic step and have been doing that for about 2 wks now. my step is at a intermediate level(6 inches). which i just raised last week. My question is, what is the best diet that I can go on doing this? I hear differnt things like count calories(which is how I lost weitht before). eat high protien, low carbs. I need to start losing weight before I get really frustrated. It just seems that Im putting in a lot of effort with no results, and by the way I love cathe's basic step and can't wait too try some more!

Im 28, Weigh 220(use to weigh 250), 5"2
do the aerobics 4 times a wk
and weight train 3 times a wk(dumbells)
drink alot of water.

PLEASE HELP, IM STUCK!

Punka274,

Not Cathe, but...Congratulations to you for losing so much weight! Good for you. Now that you have a taste of health, you need to go a step further. A diet you can live with. Welcome to the forums.

I suggest "Eat To Live" by Joel Fuhrman, M.D. and "Burn The Fat Feed The Muscle" (BTFFTM), by Tom Venuto's, a body builder, personal trainer and nutritionist.

I love the concept of both books, so I put them together and it has worked for me. But one or the other will do just nicely.

The idea is to eat healthy protein,(vegetarian or not) carbs, and fat in such a way that it gives your body enough fuel to live/exercise, and gain as much muscle as you want to help fight against fat. Much needed info in those two books you will need, to continue on your journey.

For me counting calories, and jotting down what workout I've done during the day, is a way of life. Get yourself a journel, it does save on the frustaration of overeating and overexercising. Don't guess at it.

There are lots of rotations(Rotation Forum) in that particular section here on the forums to chose from. I would start off with the beginners from Cathe until you get even more stronger. If that seems too easy, then there are intermediate rotations as well that you could follow. FitnessFreak has a rotation for intermediates, that is fantastic.

Remember, it's hard, but so worth the effort, because you think more clearly, you make better choices, and your body, changes right before your eyes. It becomes fun and you want to do these things for yourselve (cause you are worth it).

I also have a success story(Success Stories) in that forum, and shows my rotation and hints, also pictures of what I did and what I am today.

Good Luck to you, this will help get you into the skin you want. Oh, by the way, starting now is a good thing. It will get you into a great start for next year, and teaches you how to say no to yourself. Why procrastanate, right? Oh it also helps to watch "The Biggest Loser", that is so inspiring to me.

Just one more advice, The more you say no to yourself, to unhealthy foods the easier it becomes, but once you say yes to the unhealthy foods, that then also becomes easier. So it is up to you, you are in charge.

You also get great advice and cheering on, here on all the forums, try your question on the "Open" forum for even more responses and help. There are so many intelligent ladies out there.

Take care, and keep us posted,

Janie

The idea is to die young as late as possible.
