You can buy a formal dress,I think quite appropriate, there are many professional dress sites, such as,dressfirst, jjshouse,, see this,

Being poor I really like the cute (but no trendy) duds Target sells and I try to get them on sale. I believe the brand is Champion. My sweaty arse isn't terribly discerning when it comes to workout gear. :p

I just discovered the Calvin Klein Performance line: so cute and more affordable than lulumon and Feel Fit Wear (I often shop at FFW and love them). Check them out.

Hi all, can anyone help? I live in a small town and have NO place to shop for workout wear besides the "marts". When I see fitness shows on TV or Cathe's videos, I am always wanting to find the "short shorts" she wears and anything else trendy or up to date. Can anyone recommend an online site or perhaps a catalog I might request that would show stylish work out threads? Thanks in advance, Karen

Danskin makes pretty nice tanks & capris, I picked up some for running at the 'mart, they are as good or better than some I've purchased from running specific sites. I think they did have a short-short too. No one could accuse me of being trendy though or up to date...

or of wearing short-shorts, but I do have a weekly pile of workout clothes, and a budget, hence the bargain shopping...

I love Lorna Jane and heard about this site via Zuzana Light's website. Excellent quality, long lasting, and free shipping to Canada through the USA website. On another note, I thought it was quite humorous that the date of the original poster states 1969! Quite sure that's not possible....

I actually lucked out and found decent tops at Old Navy believe it or not! They fit me really well, excellent movability and breathability. I have gotten those booty shorts at Aerie (division of american eagle). Marshalls dept store also has name brand stuff if u have the time to peruse the racks. Good luck!

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned SanDiegoFit.com.

They have some really cute workout attire. However, am I the only one that balks at the high prices of most workout wear? I admit I'm the first person to spend a lot on clothes and shoes, but for some reason I always hesitate to pay high prices on the clothing I sweat in.

What I do is continually search the racks at Marshall's and TJMaxx. I am pretty lucky at finding a lot of really cute/stylish workout clothing at great discount prices. Oh and another thing I do is go into the girls departments at places like Walmart and Target and buy the L or XL ribbed racerback tanks. They are usually about $4. They make great workout tanks!

I am with you. I spend much more on my clothes and shoes. Workout gear is from Target or Old Navy:)

I am curious as to the actual date this question was originally posted. I know it couldn't have been 1969. lol.

When I exercised at home exclusively, I was content with my Champion apparel from Target. Now that I go to a gym regularly, I am more particular about going out in public in activewear. I am a HUGE Athleta fan. Not only are the clothes stylish and flattering, but they are constructed of quality fabric and many pieces can serve multiple uses. Plus, it's super easy to shop online. :p I recently took a European vacation, and the majority of my travel wardrobe consisted of Athleta apparel. The most AMAZING feature about Athleta (in my opinion, anyway) is their "Give it a workout guarantee; If you don't love it, return it for free - any time, any reason" return policy. WOW! And I can attest to the fact that they do stand by this policy as I have returned items freely. I am a certified Athleta addict.

Hi,

I found some great Calvin Klein pieces at Ross and they always carry Nike. I also stocked up at Old Navy when they had their 30% storewide sale, the workout clothes are dry fit and we'll constructed.
