Hello everybody:

My name is Marcia and I'm 32 years old, I have a lot of Cathe's tapes and just love her. I've been exercising pretty steady for quite a few years. But, I want to get SERIOUS.... I usually exercise 5-6 times a week with whatever I feel like doing that day: Cathe tape, running, walking, hiking, etc. But, I want to incorporate some toning and weight lifting as well, but I don't know what kind of sequence to use. (e.i. Every other day for weights?) I also would like to lose about 20 pounds. Does anybody have any ideas?

Thanks in advance for any help.

:) Marcia :)

Hi Marcia. This is what I would suggest.

You didn't say what Cathe tapes you had so this is what I suggest:

1. make a commitment to lift weights 3x a week - a minimum of 2x. One rule to remember - never exercise the same body part on consecutive days. I try to exercise each body part at least 2x and do a combination aerobic/weight workout one day. YOu could do split routines - upper one day, lower the next, then repeat or do 2 or 3 total body workouts - etc.

2. To lose weight make sure you keep up the cardio - try to get in at least 4x a week for a minimum of 30 to 40 min. longer if you can. 5x would be better. When losing weight, cardio is important. Also, try to schedule in one day of rest. Eat a low-fat, balanced, healthy diet and you should lose weight.

Hope I helped.
