Need dietary advice

Hi, everyone -
FitDay.com is great. I've been fooling around with it over the weekend and have set some goals. But I'd like a little advice on what the breakdown of carbs, fat and protein should be.

A major goal is to lose the fat/cellulite on my rump and hips. I'm not overweight, but I still want it gone.

My weekend diet averaged 50% carbs, 32% fat and 18% protein. That is probably fairly typical, except that I ate dessert on both days, which raised the fat.

I feel that my carbs are about right but could go a little higher. I think I should drop fats to about 20% and raise protein to about 30%. Does that sound reasonable?

Should I try something else?

Please note that I am an exercise nut and cardio maniac, so there shouldn't be a problem there! :)

Thanks!

Everyone is going to have a different diet method. But, here's my two cents... I go with 30.30.40. that's 30%fat 30%carbs and 40%protein. Your body needs a certain amount of fat to function properly. Fat is part of the bodies immune defense system, so don't go too low here.

I strive for 50% carbs, 30% protein and 20% fat every day.

40% carbs, 30% protein and 30% fat I think is okay too.

You have to do what works for you...what you can live with.

I personally need a higher carb count to feel satisfied and have energy....

I am going with 50/30/20. I need more carbs to fuel myself for lifting heavy so my muscles will continue to respond. I am doing quite well with this ratio.

50-30-20 sounds like the way to go... now I just need to find ways to increase my protein. I'm a vegetarian and just really don't like the protein options too much. I guess I'd better break out the soy...

Suggestions here are welcome, too!!
