Need Cathe DVD advice

I want to purchase some of Cathe's DVDs and am open to other instructors to supplement if you have ideas. I want to use the Pure Strength series but should I also buy a full body workout to go with it? Are Pyramids and Gym Styles good to rotate with PS? I expect to use Cardio Coach and some step but nothing too dancey or complicated. My goals are fat loss and toning up flabby abs, upper arms and thighs.

TIA,

IndyMom:)

Have you ever worked out to Cathe before? Have you ever done one of her step dvds? If not I suggest you start with her beginner/intermediate rotation located on the DVD rotation forum.

I really like the Gym Style series, and recommend it if you don't already have it. I like to alternate the GS series with the PS series. I am not a big fan of Slow and Heavy. Just seems too darn slow for me. I mainly use full body workouts as pieces- using the chest section or the bicep section and doing it twice and combining two bicep sections from two diff. workouts.

If you're looking for a full body workout, try Muscle Max and Muscle Endurance. ME is her best full body workout, IMO.

I'm not a Cathe cardio person mainly because of my lack of coordination and space. For cardio, I rely on Cardio Coach like you! My first weight DVDs were Pure Strength and the Power Hour+ DVD. PH and MIS are both excellent full body workouts, but I've never done Body Max. I hear Body Max is an excellent workout and I've read rave reviews, and the step moves are supposedly not too complicated. Since then I have purchased the Pyramids, ME, Muscle Max, Gym Styles, and SH. I like to do parts rotations with a total body thrown in and of course Cardio Coach! I like to pair the parts and total body like this:

PS/MIS
PUB/PLB/ME + BC
GS/MM
SH/no total body for this set

I have also purchased PP/SS and like to do those two with PH if I just want a total body week.

Anyway, I really like my little collection of Cathe weight DVDs because all the weight workouts vary and I can mix up my rotation every few weeks. I'd recommend them all, but I think for good old fashioned weight training, you can't beat starting off with PS and the PH+ DVD.

Like you, I use Cardio Coach for my cardio, and Cathe for strength training. I have all of Cathe's strength workouts and I love them all -- I'd be hard pressed to choose just one. You can't go wrong with any of her full body workouts.

If you like the body pump style, then Power Hour would be an excellent choice. PH was my first Cathe workout so I have a special affection for it, and it's just a lot of fun to do! I also love Muscle Max and Muscle Endurance. Cathe humbles me every time. You can't make a mistake -- any of her workouts will serve you well. ;-)

Butts and Guts is wonderful for the thighs, and I like Muscle Endurance a lot too. If you want a little hodge podge of cardio, try the Timesaver, it's excellent. I really love it too.
