Need a mentor.

I have been thinking long and hard about my dreams and what I want to do when I "grow up" ;-) . Well, I teach circuit training, toning, and step classes through our local Community Education at our school. I have for about 10 years. I absolutely love it. I am starting to write down ideas for my own club. What I'd like to see? What things I'd offer? Kind of a 'pipe dream' of sorts. I am very unhappy at my present job and think it's really something I'd love to do. BUT, I have no idea where to begin or anything. So, I need a mentor......

So, a couple of questions....

What do all of you look for in a Club, classes, etc.?

Do any of you work at one or own your Club that I could ask more indepth questions once I get going on this a little farther?

I appreciate your time!

Marcia:

Here is what would make me want to join your club:

1. roomy weight room with plenty of free weights, situp mats and mirrors. And a water cooler and towels.
2. nice shower room with towels and a few nice bath toys like nice shower gels and lotions and hair dryers and a weight scale. And mirrors.
3. treadmills
4. intense aerobic classes ala Cathe with interval classes being prime. :7

Just my 2.5 cents:

I like classes and more classes. I am going to local, clean and well maintained, facility that offers classes only (Bootcamp, Body Pump, Step (beginner through advanced) etc. I can pay $50.00 a month for unlimited classes (and there are quite a few with good variety). I do not have to pay a joiner fee and I can cancel at any time. I do not do contracts and tolerate pushy sales pitches for cocky know it alls(no thanks Gold's Gym!)

I like your idea Beavs. I would love to be able to pay a monthly fee and attend all the classes I wanted. Even my rec center has a membership fee and a per class fee on top of that. What a great idea.

Of course a large weight room with plenty of free weights, weight machines, plenty of cardio equipment, mirros, water fountain would all be needed. A nice locker room with showers, towels, shampoos, body gel etc. would be very nice too.

Good luck making your "pipe dream" a reality.
