NANCY324!!!!

tpf,
Thanks so much for asking! Yes, absolutely fine here. I heard about it too, but apparently the tornado only hit 2 Brooklyn neighborhoods, and mine wasn't included. Who would have thought there could be a tornado in Brooklyn? Weird, right?

There was flooding everywhere in the city today and all the subways were suspended, so I couldn't get to work. That was very weird too. Fortunately, I was able to work from home.

This weather has been really strange.

Wow I need to turn on the TV or check out the news on line, I had no idea about this! So glad that you are okay Nancy!! How bad is the damage and were you around when it hit? Man, I can't believe that.

Last March we had a tornado hit here- Springfield, IL- not a huge city but not real small either. I was home & had me and the cat locked in the only room in the basement without windows and I was scared to death & I'm normally one who loves to watch storms & lightening! After going through that I have a new found respect for mother nature. My neighborhood was hit pretty hard but I faired pretty well considering, same roof damage, siding damage, and a 25ft. evergreen tree uprooted but thankfully landed in the yard w/o hitting anything. Was without power for 6 days too, it's amazing how well you can adapt when you have to.

Anyway, my thoughts & prayers hoping nobody was harmed.

I read that the roofs were torn off 20 buildings, leaving 32 families without shelter. I don't live in or near those neighborhoods, so I didn't see or hear anything.

So glad you are okay!

It's really rare that you hear of tornados in urban areas, isn't it?
