My workout program

I have enjoyed the Pure Strength tapes for some time now. However, I have recently ordered 7 more tapes from Cathe and now I am trying to fit them into my program. Monday-step/treadmill
Tuesday thru Thursday-Slow & Heavy Series
Friday-????(I do something I am in the mood for)
Saturday-Power Hour
Sunday-off

During these days I also "teach" some friend and family how to do step in the evenings.

What I want to know is, is this weight program sufficent to build muscle or am I putting to much into my program. If so what should I do? I would also like to work the Pure Strength Series back in, maybe bi-weekly? Can you help?

Thank you so much for all your wonderful tapes they are informative and the routines are easy to pick up on. Cathe is a very friendly instructor I just love all of her tapes.

Hey keljam, I did a rotation for 6 weeks that went like this:

Mon:cardio kicks
Tue: power hour
Wed: cardio kicks
Thu: power hour
Fri: cardio choice ( treadmill, bike, step video or First 2 parts of body max)
Sat: upper body portion of Body Max and 30 " cardio choice

This was a tough rotation, but I felt like it gave great results!
I found 6 weeks to be long enough for this roattion. Then I went to a 6 week rotation of PS series with 5 days cardio. Next week I'll start a new rotation with Circuit Max in it. Good luck to you!

Hi:

I am going to suggest to you that with all the S & H, you don't really need the PS too! They do say that the S and H series is THE THING for building muscle mass! What you do need is some more cardio work just for you, another two sessions minimum, I would say. If you like Step, Cathe's Rhythmic Step is a creative treat and then Cardio Kicks would be a great alternative for a different day, or her interval max tape to get some interval training in there. If you just can't stay away from those weights, how about Circuit max which incorporates 2 min resistance section in between cardio bits?

Can't help with rotations at all, because I never use them. I just do 3 or 4 cardio (mixing an interval tape, a tough step tape, Rhythmis Step and another cardio that takes my fancy per week), 1 x MIS and 1 x PH per week as the desire takes me. Whatever works for you!

Take care

Clare
