My Woes..Anyone else?

Winter

Hi Ladies and Trevor,

I am happy I can finally get back on this site. Home computer not working and work computer won't let me get on the forums.

Here is my woes:
1999 I had lower back surgery - bulging disk l4 or 5.
May 2004 started to have more intense back pain - MRI results - bulging disk (tailbone area) then herniated disk where I had surgery the first time. I have started to get this under control. I have days where my back really hurts, my right foot tingles but have not wanted to go down the surgery path again as it was very painful. So in July/early august I was getting back into my workouts THEN

Saturday Aug 14th I broke my foot. It is a Jones break. Anyone heard of that? It is the bone behind the pinky toe that tendons are connected to. The doc said with the very best of care this may not heal and I might have to have a screw put in. So now I am in a purple cast up to my knee and will be on crutches 8-10 weeks. I am really bummed as like most people trying to lose weight and get a high from exercise. My back on crutches hurts worse than my foot!

My long time boyfriend (10+ years) were going to go to Antwerp, Belgium to pick out a diamond. We were to go this last March but on Feb 15 my boyfriend broke is leg in 3 places, a spiral break. He was laid up for months so we thought we would go the middle to end Sept before my company's quarter end. Guess not.

Today is my birthday 32. First time on crutches -what a nightmare.

Sorry so long - any ideas of the exercise I could do while I am laid up and and word of wisdom if any of you have broken your foot in this area before. Upper body weight lifting and patience is what I have come up with.

I miss getting on this forum regularily. Hope all of you are well!

Oh my goodness! We have missed you! You have been given more then your share this past few months!!! As someone who is still trying to come out of a knee injury, I truly understand your frustration. I was in the same boat, only being able to work UB & ABS. I have an instructor/friend who broke her leg skiing once and her Dr. said it was okay to do leg-lifts with the cast on. (she didn't need an ankle weight! Ha!) I would def get this okayed by your doc but her doc said that nothing would move inside the cast??? Hang in there and good for you for working on patience. Oh, also...
