My Short-Lived Internet Dating Experience

In less than one week, my old roommate's former boyfriend whom lives near my EX hit on me,denied whom he was, then wouldn't leave me alone. A person tried putting me on a guilt trip for not communicating with him. Many men telling me that we "have a lot in common," although I was left wondering what. One person whom I thought had hope, I found out through phone conversation #2 that he talked enough smack that it was hard to tell the truth mixed in with the BS.

Trying to rebuild a life after two years of studying, I realize that boredom not desperation is setting in. Last night, I closed my account. It is a great place to be introduced and to communicate until it's safe to meet in a public venue but nothing more. To fill my time, I plan to workout and to read books other than technical plus get involved in church. Like a man stated in his headliner, "POF is not a Career."

It sounds like your instincts are right on. I like the idea of focusing on yourself and perhaps getting involved with the community through a church or some other means. I've told my girls a few times that if they want to increase their chances of meeting a great guy, volunteer for Habitat For Humanity. Not only will he likely have a good heart, he'll be handy too!

Oh, I'm sorry you had a bad experience, but I really think you should stick with it! I dated on Match.com for quite a while, and I met my current boyfriend there. It's tough at first to weed out the losers, but I really had a blast with it. There were a lot of guys that I wouldn't have approached in public that turned out to be really fun once I got to know them. Even if you just meet some new people to hang out with, I think you should give it another shot. And don't forget, they give you the option to block certain users

JT I know what you mean, it's difficult enough dating in the real world. I have no problem with online dating you just have to be careful in this day and age of technology because people aren't who they say they are even in real life let alone the virtual world.

I'm finishing up my second master's degree (which by the way I will never do formal schooling again...whew!) and I'm in a place of just not having the energy for it all. I'm going to get back in this murder mystery series that I've had to stop due to being in school, take some cooking classes and volunteer more.

Take a break and see how you feel after awhile

yes, I just finished my first and ony masters a couple of months ago then I went for a professional certification which finished end of July. For two years, the studying became very easy. Already signed up to volunteer at church plus I was considering a cooking class too through a local supermarket chain. one good thing about it, I didn't pay for it.
