My mom is a hoot

My 70-yr. old mom just had gum surgery, and she's not supposed to talk for a few days, so she's been sending emails to her family and friends. We got this one today:

"Thinking about maybe having a glass of wine this evening, I skimmed through the cautions on the antibiotic instructions. My eyes landed on a sentence that said "This may result in pregnancy". I had already taken 5 pills!

Upon further investigation, I learned it lessens the effect of birth control pills. Not to worry, there is no baby-sitting in your future!
Love and Hugs"

Cracked me up.

That's too funny!! :D It's cool that your mom has such a great sense of humor! My grandpa has a sense of humor, but the rest of us don't usually get it. lol

Connie :)

Nancy,

That is so cute!!! You are so blessed to still have your mother with you and to have the humor with it.

People like your mother are such a good example of what we all should be like when we get older. Lots of time all we tend to focus on is the negatives of getting old. I have a great sense of humor. I hope to keep mine, as your mother's, as I get into my later years.

Which isn't that far away, actually, for I will be 51 next week. I do try to keep a positive attitude about it.

Thank you for sharing this little quip from your mother, it has brightened my day!

Cheryl, you are so sweet. Happy Birthday! I'll be 51 in March, so I'm right there with you.

My Mom is an excellent example for all of us. She's in excellent health, power walks 2 miles per day and even does some strength training. She's also VERY into healthy eating, more so than even me. Her blood pressure is low, her cholesterol is low, and so far, no signs of osteoporosis (although she's a prime candidate). Seeing how well she's doing does help me deal with the aging process.

So, forget about 51 being old. If you take care of yourself, there's no reason why you can't still be going strong at 70 (which, of course, is the new 60)! :D

LOL LOL LOL LOL breathe LOL LOL LOL LOL...could you give my email to your mom. There are days I could use a pick me up. If not, you keep sharing these gems.

That's awesome, Nancy!!! I laughed so loud that DH looked at me funny, so I had to read it to him! He liked it as well!
