My little poll experiment

I had a little to lose but If I get back into 5 or more days it turns to muscle and my clothes fit better within 2 weeks and I am at week 3 and 2 weeks has been the Leg Blast rotation and What great results already.

>Nope, JeanneMarie, your experience bears out my little theory

Yes, Nancy, you're right! I went back and re-read what you were saying and realized that I do support your theory. The only difference is that I exercise a lot so that I won't lose the weight, instead of exercising a lot trying to lose it. But, in a non conventional way, my experience does support what you are saying! :)

Jeannemarie, I'm exactly like you. The less I exercise, the less I weigh. Right now I need to put on AT LEAST 5 lbs. of muscle. :(

I voted the option that stated working out 3/4 per week with some weight to lose...like 25lbs. of meno flubber :p

There are, unfortunately, some weeks that 3 workouts would be a great accomplishment. I suffer from much allergy/sinusitis issues.
But I will overcome. :)

I have found this thread to be very motivational. Maybe because it some how helps to know I ain't in my predicament alone.:7

So here's to lovely ladies who care and great health!!!!

Nancy,
I'll be looking forward to more of your 'experiments'.:)

>Hi Nancy. Interesting train of thought you have going. :)

>I have exercised on and off for years (since highschool so say

>I eat. A sedentary lifestyle + bad eating habits has caused

>BAM...the weight would start coming back on.

>For the past 5 years I have worked out religiously and watched

>striving to improve over the years would surely fall apart and
>I would gain back the 20 pounds I worked so hard to lose 5
>years ago...Not to mention the pregnancy weight I had to lose
>as well!

>Perhaps less is more for some people but not for me. (that

OMGosh! I was going to reply but EVERY single thing Wendy said applies to me. Kind of creepy considering my name is Wendy too!
 :p

Hmm,
I think it's funny how exercise effects all of us so differently :)
I gained 10 lbs when I graduated HS (which is what `I wanted). Then My motabolism slowed drastically when I hit 21. I gained some weight.
When I was 22 1/2 I decided to start working out and going to the gym. I was determined to lose the weight. I actually wound up doing cardio for 50 mins/6 days a week (split into 3 intervals, between weights) for about 3-4 months before I finally lost the 20 lbs I wanted to lose... and cut down to less than 20 g fat a day not to mention.. (lot of beans, rice and turkey sandwiches lol!)
Once I lost the weight, I cut down on cardio because I hated it and started lifting heavy to GIAN weight.
I wanted to be buff like Cathe, but I think I ended up eating more or something, the protein intake to support the heavy lifting just bloated me and made me fat... so instead of looking like Cathe-- I looked like a linebacker lol!
These days I found that it's real hard for someone of my height (5'2) to eat 100-120 g protein a day and keep LEAN.
I do cardio 20-30 miniutes, 3 or 4 days a week with my heavy lifting.
Between everything Ive heard (even form the Sly Stallone magazine hehe), any more than that is not usefull for many people, particaurly if you are lifting.
I always do my cardio either alone with abs, or AFTER my weights, this way fat starts burning instantly instead of having to warm up and get your heart rate up. I think regular weight training is a good way to keep my matobolic rate going, and some LIC for 20 mins suits me OK. The only time I ever go beyond that is if Im sport training of course.
SOmetimes I think that I have a license to overeat if I worked out and I wonder how much of that could be a problem for some people..
Im not sure If I have helped the poll at all with this story..

Never mind the theory, pebble. I've been proven wrong. Working out more doesn't make you heavier unless you're me or Jeannemarie, and perhaps a handful of others. Interesting.
